A Town and Country man accused of murdering his wife had his preliminary hearing canceled as St. Louis County prosecutors sent the case directly to a grand jury. St. Louis County Police said Gunter struck his wife with a blunt instrument. He is charged with first-degree murder. A grand jury hearing has not yet been scheduled, court officials said. After decades with the City of Town and Country, John Copeland's last day will be April 30.
UPDATED: 11:15 a.m., Tues. April 16- Town and Country's long-serving police chief and city administrator will be retiring at the end of the month, ending a career with the city that spanned 30 years. Copeland had informed the board of aldermen Friday of his intention to retire on April 30. In recent years, Copeland has served jointly as the head of the police department and as city administrator. Police said Michelle N. Adams was weaving in her lane on Highway 141 near Interstate 64 when she was pulled over.
A St. Charles woman faces her third driving while intoxicated charge after she was pulled over on Highway 141 at Interstate 64. Michelle N. Adams, 23, of the 2500 block of Leonard Drive in St. Charles, was charged Wednesday with DWI as a persistent offender, a class D felony. She has two previous DWI convictions. Town and Country Police said an officer pulled Adams over at 2:13 a.m. Aug. 26 after seeing her weave onto a shoulder, drive on a white lane line and change lanes without signaling. After pulling her car over, the officer reported Adams smelled like alcohol, and had watery and bloodshot eyes. The following information was supplied by the Town and Country Police Department. Police are searching for suspects after two separate attempted burglaries Friday. One incident involved a group of men wearing ball caps and jump suits. Police released the following details in an email alert Friday and are asking anyone with information to call police. A burglary occurred around 11am this morning (March 15) in the 1700 block of Topping Road. The suspect(s) forced open the French doors on the southwest side of the house and apparently made entry a short distance into the residence when a motion alarm was activated. Town and Country police say the man approached a 12-year-old student and repeatedly offered her a ride as she walked home from school.

According to an email alert sent out by Town and Country police Thursday, a 12-year old female student was walking home from school when she was approached by a man in a car who offered her a ride. According to the student, the man drove up, pulled alongside her and asked if he could give her a ride home.
