MoDOT Names Dave Nichols as New Director

MoDOT says Dave Nichols has served the department for more than 29 years. His appointment comes after Kevin Keith suddenly resigned from the position last month.

As previously reported by Patch, the Missouri Department of Transportation announced a change in leadership with the sudden resignation of MoDOT Director Kevin Keith in March who was taking medical leave immediately. At that time, it was announced that Chief Engineer Dave Nichols would serve as interim director. This week, MoDOT announced Nichols, who has been with the department for more than 29 years, has been selected as the new director. CBC Basketball Coach Reportedly Asked to Resign

After 17 years as CBC’s basketball coach, Bobby McCormack has reportedly been asked to resign, according to STLhighschoolsports.com.

According to STLhighschoolsports.com, three independent sources confirmed to the publication that CBC's basketball coach Bobby McCormack has been asked to resign after 17 years in that position. This news comes after Christian Brothers College High School President Mike England resigned suddenly in January after a reported 25 years with the school.  STLhighschoolsports.com stated in its article that the information was confirmed late Tuesday, but McCormack had not returned the publication's request for a comment on the matter. The article also stated that CBC’s Director of Communications Rob Staggenborg had no official word on the news. Christian Brothers College High School President Mike England resigned this weekend citing personal reasons, school staff confirms to Patch.

UPDATED: 1:10 p.m. Monday- After a reported 25 years with the school, Christian Brothers College High School President Mike England resigned suddenly Sunday citing personal reasons, according to CBC Director of Communications Rob Staggenborg. The school is located just off Highway 40 in Town and Country.  "The faculty was notifed on Sunday that he resigned for personal reasons," Staggenborg tells Patch. "As far as I know, no one really knew about it until the announcement was made." Staggenborg said school staff cannot release much information on the resignation since it's a personnel issue, but tells Patch it was all very unexpected and parents were then notified by email Monday morning. West Co. Fire Searching For New Fire Marshal

The search comes after former fire marshal Terry DeGuentz resigned in October.

The West County EMS & Fire Protection District is searching for a new fire marshal after Terry DeGuentz resigned from the position on Oct. 4. West County provides fire service for Town and Country and Manchester. (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) The fire district isn't releasing many details about the resignation citing personnel matters. "We don't discuss personnel issues," Fire Chief Ernie Rhodes tells Patch. Police Sergeant Named in Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Resigns

Town and Country Police Sergeant Chip Unterberg, who was named in a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against the City of Town and Country resigned.

Town and Country Police  Captain Gary Hoelzer tells Sergeant Chip Unterberg resigned from the department. He worked for the police department from April 25, 1989 to May 17, 2012, according to Hoelzer. "He resigned just to pursue a career in the private sector," Hoelzer tells Patch. The resignation comes months after former Town and Country police officer Shannon Woosley filed a lawsuit earlier this year claiming she had been a victim of sexual harassment over the 10 years that she worked for the department. Unterberg was named in that lawsuit. Manchester Post Office Remains Open, City Administrator Resigns

Manchester aldermen pass the 2012 budget, the city administrator resigns and the post office will remain open.

At Monday night's Manchester Board of Aldermen meeting, Mayor David Willson announced that despite talk of a possible closure, the Manchester post office will remain open for another four years. The office in Manchester Meadows will however close, Willson said. Also Monday, Manchester City Administrator and City Engineer Ed Blattner announced he can no longer hold both positions affectively and resigned as the city administrator. Blattner served as the city administrator for seven years. He will continue to serve as the city engineer and remain working as the city administrator until that position is filled.
