New School Gets OK to Build in Town and Country

After much discussion and concerns voiced by residents, aldermen voted Monday night to approve the preliminary site plan for Raintree Learning Community so it can move into the city.

As previously reported by Town and Country - Manchester Patch, Raintree Learning Community wants to move from its Ballwin location and build a new school at 2000 to 2016 Amonte Drive in Town and Country. Despite a handful of residents speaking out against the project, the Town and Country Planning and Zoning Commission approved the preliminary site development plan for the new school on Mason Road near Manchester Road in August. Residents Protest New School Citing Traffic, Improper Notification and Commercial Property

Some Town and Country residents do not want a new school moving in on Mason Road. They said it will create a traffic hazard, they were not properly notified of the plan and they don't want a commercial property in a residential area.

Last week, despite a handful of residents speaking out against the project, the Town and Country Planning and Zoning Commission approved the preliminary development plan for a new Raintree Learning Community to be built at 2000 to 2016 Amonte Drive. Westminster Plays First Games on New Field

The Westminster Wildcats played their first games this weekend on their new football field.

The Westminster Wildcats played their first games this weekend on their brand new football field. The varsity team beat Wheaton Academy 27-14 Friday night and junior varsity beat Wheaton's JV team Saturday morning 20-0. Westminster Christian Academy moved to its multimillion dollar Town and Country campus in July. The football stadium, completed this summer, is part of the $50-million new campus construction project. The Westminster Wildcats start the season at a new school, with a new coach, new athletic director and new state-of-the-art facilities, including the 2,000-seat football stadium. Westminster's First Day of School

A $70 million campus, the largest middle and high school built in recent years in St. Louis, opened it's doors to for the first time to students on Aug. 22.

Westminster Christian Academy held class for the first time on Monday in their new state-of-the-art campus in Town and Country. The private school was formerly located 10900 Ladue Road in Creve Coeur. Also new for students were uniforms and a healthy lunch prepared by local cater and Westminster Academy alumni Holly Cunningham of Hollyberry Catering. Westminster Christian Academy Opens Its New Doors

The school invited the community to an open house on Saturday to tour the new facilities.

Westminster Christian Academy’s new Town and Country campus, a $70 million facility, opened its doors to the public this Saturday for a tour of the new space at 800 Maryville Centre Drive. Hundreds of students, families, alumni, and community members toured the new building. The school was built to house 1,200 students, and currently more than 930 seventh to twelfth graders are enrolled for the 2011-2012 school year, school officials tell Patch. “We had to close some of the grades already. The eighth grade is closed. Westminster Christian Academy Settling Into New Campus

Staff is preparing for students and the upcoming school year after moving to the new Town and Country campus over the weekend.

The campus of Westminster Christian Academy is now a beehive of activity with just a few weeks to go before school starts Aug. 22. The school moved into its new campus over the weekend. Now, staff is scurrying to place finishing touches on the new school in Town and Country.
