Freezing Temps Likely Cause of Water Main Break That Shut Down Manchester Road

Water crews are still working to repair a water main break that made for a messy morning on Manchester Road, west of Interstate 270. American Water says they are on schedule to have it repaired and all lanes open by evening rush hour.

UPDATED: 2 p.m. Monday- Traffic is now moving in the area, but not after a water main break reportedly buckled Manchester Road earlier in the day due to a water main break. Many of the businesses in the area are still without water in the area around Mason Road. (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) According to FOX 2 News, water crews were called to the break near the Manchester Meadows shopping center just after 5 a.m. Monday. That location is just west of Interstate 270 on Manchester Road in St. Louis County. Missouri American Water tells Patch, the line suffered a 12-inch diameter beak early Monday morning that had a stretch of Manchester Road closed west of Mason Road for hours while crews worked to fix the …
