Friday evening, the Manchester Police Department donned aprons and put on a Spaghetti Dinner at St. Joseph Catholic Church to benefit the family of Detective David Prouty, who passed away unexpectedly in May, at age 37. Prouty left behind a wife and four children. His wife, Holli Prouty, attended the benefit Friday evening. The Manchester Police Department is asking the public for help after the untimely death of a detective.
The Manchester Police Department is asking the public to help the family of a detective who died an untimely death, leaving his wife and four children behind. Manchester Police Detective David Wayne Prouty, 37, died on May 24, reportedly of complications from surgery. This week, the Manchester Police Department said goodbye to one of its own. Detective David Prouty, a 13-year veteran of the force, died at the age of 37.
The Manchester Police Department said goodbye to one of its own on Monday at a memorial service for Detective David Wayne Prouty, 37, who died on May 24, reportedly of complications from surgery. Fellow officers, firefighters, city employees, and members of the community joined Prouty’s friends and family to celebrate the life and work of the veteran police officer. Prouty, who joined the department in 1997, was hailed as an accomplished problem solver and peacemaker whose diligent, dependable work led to his promotion to detective in January of 2009. A moment of silence for the untimely death of a police officer started Monday night's meeting. Budgeting concerns over the Great Streets initiative and police department solar panels were also discussed.
The Manchester Board of Aldermen discussed a number of issues Monday night, but before the meeting started, the board held a moment of silence to honor a Manchester police detective who died May 24. The memorial service for Dave Prouty, 37, was held Monday at Manchester United Methodist Church. Prouty reportedly fell ill and died from the illness. He leaves behind a wife and children.
