Rainy Forecast Not Stopping Clayton Road Work This Week

Crews were able to make more progress on the Clayton Road project, plus finish some unrelated Clayton Road work Monday, before rain was expected to moved in.

The recent weeks of rainy weather have impacted work on the Clayton Road Resurfacing and Pedestrian Enhancement Project, but Monday crews were able to get out and once again make some progress before rain made its way to the St. Louis area. Also, unrelated to that project, work was done Monday on Clayton Road from Oak Springs Lane to Old Woods Mill Road. Town and Country Department of Public Works Director Craig Wilde sent out the following details of the most recent Clayton Road work in an email. Overnight Work on Clayton Road Begins Wednesday Night and Will Impact Traffic

Traffic may be restricted as pipe replacement begins along Clayton Road at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. It is expected to wrap up around 3 a.m. Thursday.

Progress continues on the Clayton Road Resurfacing and Pedestrian Enhancement Project in Town and Country.  This week, culvert pipe replacement under Clayton Road will impact traffic.  In an email update, Town and Country Department of Public Works Director Craig Wilde said the pipe replacement under Clayton Road near Highland Point and Sellenriek Road will take place Wednesday night. Work is set to begin at 8:30 p.m. and expected to wrap up by 3 a.m. Thursday. Wilde said that during the excavation road crews will likely be able to maintain two-way traffic, but traffic may be restricted at times. Flagmen will be on site directing traffic as needed. The Town and Country Board of Aldermen is set to meet Monday night.  (Sign up here for the FREE Patch Newsletter, including Breaking News Alerts.)  Aldermen are set to discuss a number of items regarding the advancement of the Clayton Road Resurfacing and Pedestrian Enhancement Project. Phase 1 is complete of the three-phase project to repave Clayton Road from Hwy 141 to the city limits near Bopp Road. The project also includes creating a multi-use pedestrian trail on the north side of Clayton Road and installing a pedestrian walkway on the existing bridge over Hwy 141, which will connect the sidewalk on the north side of Clayton Road at Old Woods Mill Road to the intersection at Clayton Road and Woods Mill Road.  Aldermen will also …

Clayton Road Project Moving Full Steam Ahead in Town and Country

Expect to see an increase in construction and road work in coming weeks as the Clayton Road Resurfacing and Pedestrian Enhancement Project moves ahead.

Phase one of the Clayton Road Resurfacing and Pedestrian Enhancements Project is complete and the City of Town and Country is now moving forward with the next two phases. Phase two, which starts east of Topping Road and extends east to Bopp Road has already begun. Phase three is the pedestrian walkway that will be built along Clayton Road over Route 141. Town and Country Department of Public Works Director Craig Wilde said residents will see activity increasing in the work areas in coming weeks. He's advising drivers to use caution and expect delays in these work zones.  Wilde recently released the following email update on the Clayton Road project. Raintree Learning Community Aldermen are set to once again discuss the architectural review of Raintree Learning Community, the new school set to move into Town and Country off Mason Road. As previously reported by Patch, in December, the architectural review by the Town and Country Board of Alderman for Raintree was continued to the Jan. 14 meeting because it was also continued until January by the city's architectural review board. Clayton Road Resurfacing Update

Road crews are making progress on resurfacing Clayon road as they conduct night work this week. Here's what's in store for the rest of the week.

Town and Country Department of Public Works Director Craig Wilde reports that resurfacing west of Mason Road is compete and offers an update Thursday on what's still to come. He said traffic delays will be minimal. Wilde released the following information in an email update on the Clayton Road Trail and Resurfacing Project.  Over the last two nights, we managed to complete the new surface west of  Mason Road.  The only paving work which remains on that end of the project is the tie in for the pavement at Masonridge Road.  Currently, we are paving the westbound lane between Oak Springs and Mason and will attempt to make the return trip covering the eastbound lane yet tonight.  This will leave only the center lane between Oak Springs and …

Clayton Road Project Update: Road Work Next Week

Paving is now complete on the Clayton Road Trail. Road resurfacing starts next week so there could be traffic delays in the immediate area.

The final leg of the Clayton Road Trail is paved and now crews move on to resurfacing the road as part of Town and Country's the Clayton Road Trail and Resurfacing Project. The road work begins Monday and may cause some traffic delays. Town and Country Department of Public Works Director Craig Wilde just released the following email update on the Clayton Road Trail Project.  I know there has been a lot of discussion and anticipation about the trail on Clayton Road.  Yesterday, we paved the final leg of the trail between Principia and Oak Springs.  Next week will provide a flurry of activity (weather permitting).  Backfill and final grading will continue to progress while the landscaping installation will begin mid week. This winter's wet weather has not only caused delays for construction of the Clayton Road Trail and Resurfacing Project, but it's also created soggy, muddy conditions related to the grading for the trail. Town and Country Department of Public Works Director Craig Wilde just met with the project's contractor to discuss those issues and the work schedule over the coming weeks.   Wilde released the following email update on the Clayton Road Trail Project.  This week, they will complete most of the peripheral items such as demolition of remaining sidewalk, storm sewer pipe work and the last of the access ramps.  Next week, we anticipate the weather to be good enough to continue the rough grading for the trail itself.  The contractor has been …

Clayton Road Project Update: Rain a Pain, But Clearing Nearly Done

The recent rain has slowed down the Clayton Road Project a bit, but clearing should be complete this week.

The recent rain has slowed down the Clayton Road Project a bit, but clearing should be complete this week. Crews have spent several weeks removing trees and obstacles for the new path. Demolition of the existing trail will continue over the next week and culverts will begin being installed, Department of Public Works Director Craig Wilde wrote in an email.  Wilde released the following email update on the Clayton Road Trail Project.  Wow, this rain is really slowing us down. Omni only has about one more day of clearing operations and they will be complete. We removed the east side of the entrance at the firehouse and had it replaced with a small complication.
