About the Outlets: St. Louis Premium Outlets in the Chesterfield Valley is set to open Aug. 22. The $100 million, 350,000-square-foot complex will include 85 stores located on the south side of Highway 40 just east of the Daniel Boone Bridge. It is being developed by Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group and Forth Worth, Texas-based Woodmont Outlets. Taubman Prestige Outlets is set to open Aug. 2. The $150 million, 450,000-square-foot project will include more than 100 stores on North Outer 40 east of Boone’s Crossing. It is being developed by Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based Taubman Centers and Warren, N.J.-based OutletPartners LLC. Smoothie King Adding 25 Locations in St. Louis Area

Are you a fan of the franchise's West County locations? The company has announced plans to expand over the next five years.

UPDATED: 4:30 p.m., April 29- There’s a smoothie war brewing in St. Louis and it will likely mean good things for West County residents who are fans of the fruit-based beverages. Smoothie King announced last week that it is seeking to expand its footprint in St. Louis and open 25 additional locations over the next five years. The national chain already has locations in Chesterfield, Manchester, Creve Coeur and Kirkwood. “We are confident that our brand has great potential for further development in St. Louis and look forward to building a stronger presence in the area,” said Smoothie King CEO Wan Kim in a press release. Scam Costs Manchester Cashier $150

Manchester police are investigating a scam at a local business that left one cashier $150 short. Authorities found the same person pulled off a similar scam in Chesterfield.

The following information was supplied by the Manchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made. March 10: 100 block Highlands Boulevard Drive Stealing: A cashier reported falling victim to a scam that resulted in the loss of $150. The scam was reportedly conducted at the cash register and after further investigation, police discovered a similar incident in Chesterfield by the same suspect. Investigators have reviewed photos of the suspect. Detectives are conducting further investigation. Man Faces Third DWI Charge After Being Pulled Over in Town and Country

The Chesterfield man was charged as a persistent offender, a felony.

*The following information was supplied by court documents. It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made. A Chesterfield man faces his third alcohol-related driving charge after Town and Country Police pulled him over Jan. 2. Gregory M. Orrick, 49, of the 16300 block of Champion Drive in Chesterfield, was charged Jan. 2 with driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender, a felony. Town and Country Police said officers found Orrick was driving while intoxicated after they pulled him over on westbound Interstate 64 at I-270 at 6:59 p.m. Jan. 2 in Town and Country. Orrick also pleaded guilty to DWI on two occasions, in October 2007 and December 2003. Orrick posted 10 percent of a $20,000 bond and was released from jail …

New Mizzou Store Explodes Black and Gold in West County

The University of Missouri-themed store quietly opened Aug. 29, but with a new sign installed Wednesday, it's set for a grand opening next Thursday.

Chesterfield Swaps Land with Town and Country, Creve Coeur

About 100 acres of undeveloped land will change hands to make the boundaries of three cities cleaner around Hwy 141.

Three cities surrounding the new Highway 141 construction project between Ladue Road and Olive Boulevard are negotiating a land swap to streamline their city boundaries. Just under 100 acres will be exchanged surrounding approximately two miles of highway (see the maps in the PDF portion of this article). Most parcels are narrow strips of land and none are occupied by businesses or residents. Actual ownership of the land will remain the same, they will merely be inside different city limits and then be patrolled by that city's police department and served by that city's fire and ambulance services.
