Three incumbents retain their positions after Tuesday's election, but a newcomer came in close behind and says she'll stay active in the district.
UPDATED: 3:35 p.m. Wednesday- Voters decided Tuesday that incumbent Parkway School Board members Dee Mogerman, Bruce Major and Chris Jacob should keep their positions. Voters could select three of four candidates to vote for in the Parkway School Board election. Click here for election results. Jacob received the most votes, with 8,237 votes, or 26.10 percent. Mogerman garnered 8,162 votes, or 25.86 percent. Major slipped in with 7,994 votes, or 25.33 percent. Patch called each of the candidates late Tuesday night, but could only reach Jacob for comment. Information for Town and Country and Manchester voters as they prepare for alderman, Parkway School Board, the county assessor and fire board races in Tuesday's election.
Polls open at 6 a.m. Tuesday and close at 7 p.m. Town and Coutry - Manchester Patch will be out early talking with voters and let you know what they are saying about Tuesday's election. Patch will also post election results as they come in Tuesday night and speak with candidates as the results come in. Four candidates filed for the three open Parkway Board of Education seats. Three are current school board members, while the other is a mom new to the school district. In order of filing, the candidates for the April 5 election are Dee A. Mogerman, Bruce Major, Chris Jacob and Patricia Adair. Mogerman, Major and Jacob are all current board members, Adair is new to the district this year. Town and Country - Manchester Patch spoke with all four candidates. Candidates filed for the Manchester and Town and Country city councils and the Parkway Board of Education on the first day of filing for the April election.
Tuesday was the first day to file for office for the April 5 election. Candidates filed for the Manchester and Town and Country boards of aldermen and the Parkway Board of Education. Filing closed at 4 p.m. Tuesday and all but one of the candidates who filed were incumbents. Town and Country has four seats open in April. Incumbents David A. Karney, of ward 4, Tim Welby, of ward 2, and Lynn H. Wright, of ward 1, filed for re-election. No candidate has yet filed for ward 3, though there is plenty of time as filing continues through Jan. 18. Alderman Karney, who has lived in Town and Country since 1962, has served as and alderman for 13 years and was mayor from 2003-2005.
