Tour Town and Country's Newly Remodeled Fire House Saturday

The public is invited to come tour the newly updated fire station at Mason and Clayton roads from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Come tour the newly renovated fire house at the intersection of Mason and Clayton roads in Town and Country. The station houses West County EMS and Fire Protection District crews. As previously reported by Town and Country - Manchester Patch, renovations began on the fire station in June after the city of Town and Country approved the Fire Station 2 renovation project estimated to cost a total of $853,400.  The improvements include better HVAC control, generator capacity, function for two genders of firefighters, general wear, maintenance and comfort.  Saturday, the public is invited to come tour the new fire house and have a free lunch. Crews Moving Back Into Town and Country Firehouse After Renovations

West County EMS and Fire crews are moving back into the fire station at Mason and Clayton roads after a six-month renovation project.

Firefighters and paramedics from the West County EMS and Fire Protection District have been living in trailers near the old Missouri State Highway Patrol building since June when the renovations began. Friday, they are moving back into Fire Station 2, located at Mason and Clayton roads in Town and Country. (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) Firefighters Offer Fun and Learning For Kids, Parents Saturday

The new West County fire training facility is open to the public Saturday. Kids and parents can participate in firefighter and paramedic training activities. Check it out!

The West County EMS and Fire Protection District has a new training facility and Fire Safety House for community and school tours. Located at 13790 Manchester Road, near the intersection of Manchester and Mason roads, the open house is 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Resident's can tour the center, participate in the hands-on exibilts and meet the West County firefighters and paramedics who respond to their local 911 calls. New West County Fire Chief Likely Named This Week

The person who will replace former Fire Chief David Frazier is expected to be announced Thursday.

The West County EMS & Fire Protection District has not had a fire chief since June, when former fire chief David Frazier was "reassigned" from fire chief to deputy chief of logistics. As previously reported by Town and Country - Manchester Patch, Deputy Chief Jeff Sadtler has served as acting fire chief of the district since the change and a search for a new chief got underway. No Injuries in Town and Country House Fire

Fire crews said the fire appears to be accidental.

According to a news release, the West County EMS and Fire Protection District responded to the house fire at 13000 Clayton Rd., just before 1 a.m. Thursday. The home is located just west of Topping Road. (Sign up here for the FREE Patch Newsletter, including Breaking News Alerts.) In the release, Fire Marshal Terry DeGuentz stated tha the fire was actually noticed by a Town and Country police officer who was on patrol. Deguentz said the fire originated in the kitchen and spread to the adjoining rooms, but fire crews were able to get to the blaze in time to prevent it from spreading throughout the house. New Details on West County Fire Chief Demotion

The West County EMS and Fire Protection District's acting fire chief updated Town and Country city leaders on "reappointment" of David Frazier Jr. from fire chief to deputy chief of logistics.

The now Acting Fire Chief, Deputy Chief Jeff Sadtler, told Town and Country aldermen and the city's mayor that he can't talk much on the issue citing it being a personnel issue, but he did say that David Frazier Jr. went from fire chief to deputy chief of logistics earlier this month. "Chief Frazier has been reappointed to a new role as deputy chief of logistics. The position is evolving," Sadtler said Monday night. "We appeciate your patience while we reinvent and reengineer." West County Fire Changes, Longview Parking & Yard Waste in Town and Country

Aldermen have a packed agenda Monday night.  Prior to the meeting, aldermen are set to discuss personnel changes at the West County EMS & Fire Protection District. As previously reported by Patch and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, West County Fire Chief David Frazier was demoted this month from chief to deputy chief of logistics. Patch has confirmed that Deputy chief Jeff Sadtler is now as chief of the district as it searches for Frazier's replacement. West County Fire Chief Reportedly Demoted

David Frazier has been demoted as fire chief for West County EMS & Fire Protection District and doesn't know why, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, David Frazier has reportedly been demoted from chief to deputy chief of logistics of the West County EMS & Fire Protection District. The Post reports that the job change took place on June 11 and Frazier said he was not made aware of the reasons for the demotion. The article states that Deputy chief Jeff Sadtler is now acting as chief of the district. Neither Frazier or Sadtler were able to be reached by Patch for comment or clarifiction Wednesday evening about the reported changes within the fire district. Joplin 1 Year Later: How West County Helped Out

One year after the devastating tornado brought destruction to the Missouri city, 'Patch' looks back at how rescue workers, your friends and neighbors offered a helping hand to those in need

Almost as if to show the state and the nation that it is on the road back to recovery, high profile remembrances of the May 22, 2011 Joplin Tornado took place a day before the anniversary itself, as President Obama, Governor Nixon and other dignitaries were on hand in the city for Joplin High School's graduation exercises. The EF5 tornado and the damage it caused drew many with Manchester and Town and Country ties to jump into action. Rescue workers from West County EMS and Fire Protection District were some of the first to head down to Joplin to help with search and recovery efforts. West County EMS and Fire Protection District has a new training facility and Fire Safety House for community and school tours. The building is not yet complete, but Town and Country - Manchester Patch got a sneak peek of the facility set to be finished in June.  Deputy Chief Jeff Sadtler tells Patch construction began in December 2010 and it's funded in part by the $19 million bond issue passed by voters. The cost is estimated at a total of $5 million for the construction of the Fire Safety House and training facility, plus additions to Fire House 2. The new buildings are located behind Fire House 2 off Manchester Road near Mason Road.  Sadtler said the new Fire Safety House offers an interactive experience to adults and children who come …
