(For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) The log cabin on Conway Road in Town and Country was disassembled Monday, Jan. 28 and moved to Drace Park for storage. The cabin was found inside a home that was being demolished so Alderman Skip Mange spearheaded an effort to raise private funds to preserve the cabin. More donations are still needed and can be made to the Town and Country Historical Society. The Post-Dispatch also posted a video online of Mange explaining the process and history behind the cabin. The final numbers are in from this winter's deer management program in Town and Country. A total of 115 deer were reportedly killed. View the reports here.
This winter's sharpshooting of the deer herd in Town and Country was completed last month and the final deer management report has been released. In November, the City of Town and Country approved allocating $57,250 for this winter's deer management program, which included sharpshooting by White Buffalo of up to 125 deer and the harvesting of the deer meat. (Read Previous Story: Winter Deer Management Plan Passed in Town and Country) Captain Gary Hoelzer, who researched and helped develop the city's deer management plan, said that number was determined by him and the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). Town and Country city employees are being giving the option in 2013 to take one or two percent pay increases.
One percent pay raises for city employees are included in the newly adopted 2013 Town and Country city budget. However, employees will have the option next year to forgo the raise until June and then receive a two percent pay raise instead. (Read Previous Story: Town and Country Approves 2013 Budget) Mayor Jon Dalton said the proposal is to give employees the option of having a higher base salary at the end of 2013, which is what a future raise would be based upon, while still having the city pay out what's budgeted for city employee raises in the 2013 budget. Town and Country aldermen approved the city's 2013 fiscal year budget. It includes an interesting option for city employees in regard to their raises.
This week, the Town and Country Board of Aldermen passed the city's 2013 fiscal year budget. A public hearing was held on the proposed budget prior to the vote Monday night. As previously reported by Patch, City Financial Director Betty Cotner presented the proposed fiscal year 2013 budget to aldermen prior to the Oct. 22 board of aldermen meeting. Cotner said the city's total budgeted expenditures is $16,518,590 and total revenues is $14,090,700 for FY 2013. Sales tax makes up the majority of city's revenue, with utility taxes second in line and licenses and permit costs coming in third. However, Cotner said there is a 5.62% percent decrease in general fund revenues from FY 2012's $9,858,650 to $9,304,680 in 2013. There is also a .97 …

The city of Town and Country will likely keep its zero cent property tax rate for 2012 since the city has enough reserve funds and doesn't see a need to increase the tax rate.

Police said a man was arrested for allegedly touching himself while naked in front of teen girl. This is reportedly the second time he's been arrested in recent months for sexual misconduct involving teens.

A Town and Country man is out on bond after being arrested for allegedly touching himself in front of a teenager while he was naked. Marco A. Castaneda, 63, of 582 Pinebrook Court in Town and Country was arrested on August 16, according to an email from Town and Country Police Captain Gary Hoelzer. The email states that officers responded to the 13200 block of Pinetree Lake Drive around 2 p.m. to find a man had exposed himself to a teenage girl while she was in her own yard. Concerns over traffic are voiced as plans for a private school, the Raintree Learning Community, are considered by the City of Town and Country.
Town and Country's Planning and Zoning Commission is reviewing plans for a new school to be built on a now vacant lot in the city, but those plans have some concerned about traffic in the area and a "commercial facility" moving into the community.
