Eight candidates have filed to run for two seats on the Parkway School District Board of Education in the Apri 2 election. As we approach the election, Patch will send each candidate a questionnaire to help empower voters to cast their ballots for the candidates they believe in. And we would like to include all of you in the process. What questions do you have for the candidates? Do you have a question about an issue in a particular school? The terms of Tom Appelbaum and Sam Sciortino expire in April, 2013. Filing begins Tuesday for the April election.
The following information was provided by the Parkway School District in a news release. (Sign up here for the FREE Patch Newsletter, including Breaking News Alerts.) Two director positions are open on the Parkway Board of Education, each for a three-year term, in the April 2013 election. Candidate filing begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, and continues through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. Filing must be done in person at the Parkway Administrative Center, 455 N. Woods Mill Rd., Chesterfield, Mo 63017. Filing hours are from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tom and LaDonna Appelbaum excited about the opportunities the convention provides.
The Missouri delegation had bacon and eggs served with a side of disappointment Tuesday at the Democratic National Convention. Due to increased security and some pretty intense checkpoints along the way to the hotel, the featured speaker Donna Brazile, Democratic National Committee vice chair, was unable to make make it to speak at the meeting. Instead, Democrats heard from state and local leaders. State Treasurer Clint Zweifel and Secretary of State Robin Carnahan addressed the crowd, along with other mayors and members of the delegation.
