Gunter Murder Case Headed For Grand Jury

William Lynn Gunter is charged with killing his wife March 18 in their home. On Thursday, St. Louis County prosecutors sent Gunter's case directly to a grand jury.

A Town and Country man accused of murdering his wife had his preliminary hearing canceled as St. Louis County prosecutors sent the case directly to a grand jury. William Lynn Gunter, 59, of the 1500 block of Mason Hill Court, is accused of killing his wife, Suzanne Gunter, on March 18 in their home. St. Louis County Police said Gunter struck his wife with a blunt instrument. He is charged with first-degree murder. A grand jury hearing has not yet been scheduled, court officials said. West County Man Faces Felony DWI Charge

St. Louis County Police said the man was driving drunk on South Weidman Road near Hickory Hedge Drive.

A West County driver whom police said was crossing over lane lines now faces a felony drunk driving charge. Thomas Spencer, 45, of the 200 block of Hickory Hedge Drive in West County between Manchester and Town and Country, was charged Feb. 27 with driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender. Spencer has two previous alcohol-related driving convictions. St. Louis County Police said an officer saw Spencer’s car weaving and crossing over lane lines about 2:06 a.m. July 19 on South Weidman Road near Hickory Hedge Drive. Man Charged With Stalking Left Life-Threatening Messages for His Wife, Police Said

St. Louis County Police said the man left 24 messages in an 8-hour period, stating the woman would not see tomorrow and that he planted a remote device in her car.

A 63-year-old man, who left threatening messages for his wife, faces a criminal charge. St. Louis County Police said Dominic J. Arena, 63, of Piedmont, left 24 messages on his wife’s cell phone in an eight-hour period Wednesday. The woman works in an unincorporated area between Town and Country and Des Peres. In several of the messages, Arena said his wife would not live to see tomorrow and that he had planted a remote device in her car, according to the police report. Manchester Man Charged With Having Sex With 16-Year-Old Girl

The man is being held in St. Louis County jail. His bond was just reduced from $25,000 to a $7,500 cash-only bond.

A 41-year-old Manchester man faces seven criminal charges for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old girl, according to investigators. Chad Bullerdick, 41, of Manchester, was charged Dec. 1 with six counts of second-degree statutory sodomy, a class C felony, and one count of second-degree child molestation, a class A misdemeanor. St. Louis County Police said that between Nov. 1 and Nov. 30, Bullerdick allegedly had several sexual encounters with a 16-year-old girl. Good Samaritan Gets Car Stolen, Wrecked in Police Chase

The driver who was struck by the stolen car as it fled police was reportedly injured, knocked unconscious and hospitalized.

A Valley Park woman who gave a ride to a couple, one of whom was walking with the aid of a walker, on a cold, windy day Nov. 11, reportedly had her car stolen and crashed in return. Police: Man Punched Employee, Got Away With Groceries

The Shop 'n Save worker tried to stop two men from stealing the groceries May 12 in Twin Oaks, St. Louis County Police said.

A man punched a Shop ‘n Save employee while another man walked out with stolen groceries 12 in Twin Oaks, police said. Walter Ruffin, 18, of the 8300 block of Hill Avenue in Cool Valley, was charged Oct. 30 with second-degree robbery. (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) St. Louis County Police said Ruffin and another man walked out of Shop ‘n Save at 1144 Meramec Station Road in Twin Oaks without paying for groceries. Zombie 5K Run at Queeny Park - Register Now

Runners are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes; prizes will be awarded. Participants are limited to 200. Save on the registration fee for this run until Oct. 19.

The first-ever Zombie 5K Run is taking place on Friday, Oct. 26, at Queeny Park. The number of participants is limited, so register now for the event sponsored by the recruits of St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy Class 178. Registration will begin at 7 p.m. and the race will start at 8 p.m. at the park, 550 Weidman Road. Registration is limited to those ages 12 and older. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes, as prizes will be given for the best costumes. The run will benefit the St. Louis BackStoppers. The registration fee is $30 until Oct. 19, and $35 afterward. Every participant will receive a Zombie Run shirt and Energizer headlamp.
