A Town and Country man accused of murdering his wife had his preliminary hearing canceled as St. Louis County prosecutors sent the case directly to a grand jury. William Lynn Gunter, 59, of the 1500 block of Mason Hill Court, is accused of killing his wife, Suzanne Gunter, on March 18 in their home. St. Louis County Police said Gunter struck his wife with a blunt instrument. He is charged with first-degree murder. A grand jury hearing has not yet been scheduled, court officials said. Town and Country Police said the woman stole $85,487 in jewelry, coins, sterling silver and other items in seven burglaries.

A former hairdresser for a retirement community was indicted last Wednesday by a St. Louis County grand jury on seven burglary charges after being accused of stealing. As previously reported by Patch, Town and Country Police said Kerri Spink, 39, stole items valued at a total of $85,487 from residents of Garden Villas Retirement Community, 13590 South Outer 40 Road in Town and Country. Spink, 39, of Imperial, faces six second-degree burglary charges, one first-degree burglary charge and three felony stealing charges. Police said Spink stole a master key to rooms in the facility and used the key to enter seven apartments. …

A St. Louis County grand jury determined the two men will stand trial for the alleged crimes.

Cody Coleman, 19, of the 600 block of Windingpath Lane in Manchester, was indicted for assaulting a law enforcement officer. Geoffry Gutmann, 19, also of the 600 block of Windingpath Lane, was indicted for felony stealing. Manchester Police said officers set up an undercover operation to recover stolen goods they believed were listed for sale on Craigslist.
