Saturday is Small Business Day

This Saturday is the first ever Small Business Day meant to encourage shoppers to spend at local stores and give back to their communities.

It's being called a big day for small business. Saturday is the first ever Small Business Day and people across the country and in Town and Country and Manchester are being encouraged to get out and support their community's small businesses. It's a national effort to "employ our neighbors and reinvest our money close to home." It's also a way to boost local economies in this trying economic time. According to SmallBusinessSaturday.com, for every $100 spent at local small businesses, $68 returns to the community. Facebook is pushing the effort and you can learn more at Facebook.com/SmallBusinessSaturday. Small businesses are also encouraged to sign up on Facebook and become part of the American Express sponsored movement.
