NEWS NEARBY: Man Shoots at Neighbor After Being Uninvited to Wedding

After a handgun clicked, the man told his neighbor, "The next one is going in your head," St. Louis County Police reported.

A Valley Park man allegedly shot at his neighbor Saturday after the neighbor said he did not want the man at his wedding, St. Louis County Police said. Casey McBride, 23, of the 600 block of Leonard Drive in Valley Park, was charged Sunday with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. Town and Country Alderman Votes to Censure Himself

A wrap of Monday night's Town and Country Board of Aldermen meeting, including the censuring of an alderman for a threatening email traced back to his computer.

Monday night's Town and Country Board of Aldermen meeting began with a moment of silence in honor of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords who was shot Saturday at a political event. It was a packed house and agenda Monday night, but it was a resolution to censure Alderman David Karney that received an emotional response from family members of fellow alderman Fred Meyland-Smith.  The board entered the resolution and voted unanimously to censure, or publicly reprimand, Karney after an e-mail received by Meyland-Smith that said he "should be shot" was traced back to Karney's office computer.   The Oct. 8 e-mail reads as follows: "Alderman Smith,  "You should be ashamed of yourself. Unfortunately, small towns do not have the breath of laws to handle all situations. If it is not a State Law or in the Revised Missouri Statutes, prosecutors are hamstrung in pursuit of convictions for real criminal conduct. It is too bad a set of model City laws is not available for all cities to adopt, especially an ethics law with teeth. Alderman Karney should resign for his outrageous conduct.   more ›

Threatening E-mail Leads to Possible Censure of Town and Country Alderman

Town and Country Alderman David Karney faces scrutiny after a fellow alderman receives an e-mail saying he "should be shot."

UPDATED 4:40 p.m. Monday- Town and Country - Manchester Patch has obtained a copy of the investigation into a threatening e-mail received by one alderman that was traced back to a fellow alderman's computer. Town and Country Ward Four Alderman David Karney faces censure Monday after a fellow alderman received an e-mail traced to Karney's computer saying he "should be shot." The e-mail references the divisive issue of deer management. It has caused great debate among Town and Country residents supporting and opposing the shooting of the animals to control the city's deer population.
