Gunter Pleads Not Guilty in Murder Case; Had $213K Civil Judgment Against Him

Thursday, W. Lynn Gunter pleaded not guilty to charges of murder in the death of his wife in their Town and Country home. Meanwhile, Patch found his former employer sued him for breach of a contract and was awarded a settlement in February.

W. Lynn Gunter pleaded not guilty to a first-degree murder charge in St. Louis County Circuit Court Thursday morning. As previously reported by Patch, Gunter is accused of murdering his wife Monday at their Town and Country home. (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) Gunter’s attorney, N. Scott Rosenblum, declined to talk about specifics of the case. "I will say generally it’s not a wise proposition for anybody to jump to conclusions in any case," Rosenblum said. Due to the Presidents Day holiday, this week's Manchester Board of Aldermen meeting is Tuesday, Feb.21. Hepatitis B Shots Available for Manchester Police Department

Hepatitis B shots will be offered as the Manchester Police Department seeks state certification from the Missouri Police Chiefs Association.

Manchester police Chief Tim Walsh addressed the Manchester Board of Aldermen Monday night about getting Hepatitis B shots for police department staff. Walsh said it's a topic that came up as the department is going through the process of seeking state certification from the Missouri Police Chief's Association. Walsh said the Occupational and Safety Health Administration (OSHA) requires first responders have available to them a vaccination for Hepatitis B and to receive it at no cost. "We are revising the policies and procedures of the police department. We came across this standard by OSHA," Walsh said. Manchester Pays $35K to Settle Discrimination Lawsuit

Aldermen must approve allocating $35,000 of city funds to the lawsuit that was settled in December.

At Monday night's Manchester Board of Aldermen meeting, the board had its first reading of a bill to approve allocating $35,000 from the city's general fund to be used to pay for discrimination lawsuit that was settled in December. Aldermen did not discuss the issue at all. The board did not vote on the matter, but could vote on approving the allocation of funds at the next meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 21. As previously reported by Town and Country - Manchester Patch, Judy DeRose, a former Manchester employee, removed her discrimination lawsuit against the City of Manchester after settling her case privately, according to the Public Access to Court Electronic Records service (PACER). DeRose worked as Director of Parks for the city for 22 years…
