Update: MoDOT announced that the scheduled blasting would not take place due to predicted rain Wednesday. The Missouri Department of Transportation is warning drivers to expect traffic delays on southbound Interstate 270, between Manchester Road and Interstate 44, as rock blasting takes place this week. Weather permitting, the blasting is set to begin Wednesday along southbound Interstate 270 at 1 p.m, MoDOT stated in a news release. This means all lanes in both directions of I-270, between Manchester Road and Interstate 44, will be closed for up to 15 minutes on weekdays.. MoDOT will not close Interstate 270 lanes Tuesday afternoon or at any time Wednesday due to Fourth of July holiday travel.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will not blast rock and close all lanes on Interstate 270 Tuesday afternoon or all day Wednesday. Modot is canceling the daily road closures on I-270 between Manchester and Big Bend roads in West County.
The Missouri Department of Transportation announced Wednesday morning it is canceling the daily Interstate 270 lane closures so crews can can complete survey work in the blasting region. Rock blasting is taking place between Manchester and Big Bend roads daily.
