Raintree School's Building Design Approved

The Raintree Learning Community's new building coming to Town and Country will likely be built of brick, cedar and have a grey roof.

The Town and Country Board of Aldermen approved the architectural review for the new Raintree Learning Community moving into Town and Country. As previously reported by Patch, the new school is set to move in off Mason Road. The new building would be built on what is now vacant lots that were approved to be the Amonte Subdivision. Monday night's approval of the architectural review comes after the city's architectural review board continues the matter in December over concerns about the white steel siding the school initially planned to use. "We took those concerns into consideration and changed the design," explained the school's owner Ilya Eydelman. Alderman Phil Behnen, who sits on the architectural review board, said revised plans …

Steel Siding Sets Raintree Learning Community Back in Planning

Town and Country city leaders have some concerns over Raintree Learning Community's plan to use steel siding on the new school coming to a residential area.

Earler this month, the architectural review by the Town and Country Board of Alderman for the Raintree Learning Community was continued to the Jan. 14 meeting because it was also continued until January by the city's architectural review board. Alderman Phil Behnen, who sits on the architectural review board, said the board had some concerns about the siding the school planned to use on the building. "They're using a steel siding which we're just not familiar with that product in the city. We thought it looked more like an industrial product than a school," Behnen said. He said it's of particular concern because the school sits right in the middle of a residential area, although it cannot be seen by the road and most neighbors. Behnen said…

New School Gets OK to Build in Town and Country

After much discussion and concerns voiced by residents, aldermen voted Monday night to approve the preliminary site plan for Raintree Learning Community so it can move into the city.

As previously reported by Town and Country - Manchester Patch, Raintree Learning Community wants to move from its Ballwin location and build a new school at 2000 to 2016 Amonte Drive in Town and Country. Support, Concerns Over New Town and Country School Go Before Aldermen

Town and Country aldermen discussed plans for the Raintree Learning Community, a new school hoping to move in off Mason Road. The city's 2012 property tax rate was also voted on Monday night.

Residents Protest New School Citing Traffic, Improper Notification and Commercial Property

Some Town and Country residents do not want a new school moving in on Mason Road. They said it will create a traffic hazard, they were not properly notified of the plan and they don't want a commercial property in a residential area.

Resident Concerns Not Stopping New School From Moving Forward in Town and Country

Despite some residents' concerns, plans for a new private school, the Raintree Learning Community, were approved by the Town and Country Planning and Zoning Commission Wednesday night.

Town and Country's Planning and Zoning Commission approved the preliminary development plan for a new Raintree Learning Community to be built at 2000 to 2016 Amonte Drive just off Mason Road. Town and Country's Planning and Zoning Commission is reviewing plans for a new school to be built on a now vacant lot in the city, but those plans have some concerned about traffic in the area and a "commercial facility" moving into the community.
