Fire House Renovation Cost, New School Before Town and Country Aldermen Monday

Town and Country aldermen will discuss increasing funding by $53K for the city's fire station renovations, plus take a closer look at plans for Raintree Learning Community moving in off Mason Road. View full agenda here.

EDITOR'S NOTE: This article has been updated to reflect the correct cost of the fire house renovation project and the correct use of the capital improvement funds that are being discussed Monday night. Town and Country aldermen are set to discuss a number of issues Monday night, including adjusting the 2012 budget to increase expenditures by $53K for the fire station renovations. New School, Property Taxes Before Town and Country Aldermen Monday

The Town and Country Board of Aldermen is set to discuss plans for the new Raintree Learning Community, a new private school that some residents oppose moving in off Mason Road. The city property tax rate is also up for a vote Monday night.

Monday will likely be a busy Town and Country Board of Aldermen meeting.  (Sign up here for the FREE Patch Newsletter, including Breaking News Alerts.)   A vote could come on the city's 2012 property tax rates, which are once again proposed to remain at zero cents. As previously reported by Town and Country - Manchester Patch, residents in Town and Country do not currently pay a city property tax. Each year, cities across St. Louis County have to set their property tax rates. Aldermen will probably vote to maintain the tax rate at zero Monday night.  Also on the agenda, aldermen are set to discuss a proposal for a for a new Raintree Learning Community to be built at 2000 to 2016 Amonte Drive. Despite a handful of residents speaking out …
