Six Charged After Police Pursuit That Ended With Crash in Town and Country

Police said the six suspects led police on two separate car chases, one of which ended with a crash off Highway 40 in Town and Country.

Six suspects have been charged with felony stealing, strong armed robbery, assault on a law enforcement officer, assault and property damage after an incident Friday at the Von Maur store in the Meadows in Lake St. Louis. As previously reported by Patch, a police pursuit ended with a crash in Town and Country when the suspects rolled their car along Highway 40.  (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) Arrest in Connection to Attempted Walmart Theft and Police Chase

Police said the man sped and weaved in and out of traffic on Highway 40 after fleeing the Chesterfield Valley Walmart. Town and Country police were involved in the pursuit.

The following information was supplied by local police and court documents. It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made. A man eluded numerous police departments, including Town and Country, during a high-speed car chase earlier this month. Chesterfield police said the pursuit ensued after the man allegedly tried to steal a television from Walmart, however he was later arrested in Cahokia, IL.  (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) Darius Dean, 32, of East St. Louis, was charged Nov. 2 with felony stealing and resisting arrest, creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death. Stolen Walmart TV Sparks Police Pursuit Through Town and Country

A man suspected of stealing a TV fled from various law enforcement agencies along Highway 40, including Town and Country.

A man suspected of stealing a TV from the Walmart in Chesterfield fled with police in pursuit all the way into Illinois Thursday.  (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) Chesterfield Police Capt. Steven Lewis tells Patch, officers received a call about the theft from the store in Chesterfield Valley and were able to locate the suspect's vehicle. However, once officers pulled up behind and switched on their lights, the suspect refused to stop.  Although Lewis didn't characterize the chase as "high speed," the suspect travelled onto Highway 40 heading east and eventually left the Chesterfield city limits. At that point, Chesterfield Police units stopped the pursuit and it was continued by other law enforcement …
