A spokesperson with DePaul Hospital tells 'Patch' that Town and Country resident Suzanne Hazelton, who was in the plane that crashed into Creve Coeur Lake last Wednesday, has died.
Russell Hazelton, the pilot of that plane died shortly after the plane crashed into Creve Coeur Lake in Maryland Heights last Wednesday. A spokesperson with DePaul Hospital tells Patch, Russell's wife Suzanne, the only passenger in the four-seat, single-engine Piper PA-28 Cherokee plane, passed away the hospital around 5:30 p.m. Monday. As previously reported by Patch, Suzanne had been critically injured in the crash. She and her husband Russell were headed to the airport in Creve Coeur when the plane went down. A witness told police the plane attempted to land on the east bank of the lake but wound up upside down in Creve Coeur Lake, which is less than a mile from Creve Coeur Airport. The second victim of a plane crash in Maryland Heights on Oct. 24 died Monday evening.
Suzanne Hazelton, a passenger in the small-engine plane that crashed into Creve Coeur Lake Oct. 24, died at SSM DePaul hospital, according to hospital spokesperson Rachel Piney. Piney tells Patch, Suzanne passed away around 5:30 p.m. Monday. Russell Hazelton, the pilot of the plane that crashed into Creve Coeur Lake this week, died overnight. Hazelton's wife, Suzanne, remains in critical condition. Friends say the loss will have an enormous impact on their neighborhood.

I am so very sorry to hear of Capt Russell Hazelton's passing. He and I used to talk of our both being from Pennsylvania, when we were with TWA, in St. Louis.
