Despite wet weather, installation of the garden wall at Town and Country Lane is underway and paving between 141 and Oak Springs is set to begin.
This winter's wet weather has been a setback for construction of the Clayton Road Trail Project, but Department of Public Works Director Craig Wilde said crews are still hard at work and plan to have the trail paved in the next few weeks. Wilde released the following email update on the Clayton Road Trail Project. We have been working on every available day to get the grading work completed for the trail. Thursday evening, a ceremonial ground breaking took place in Town and Country for the Clayton Road resurfacing and trail project.
Around 50 Town and Country city leaders and residents gathered at Longview Farm Park on Thursday afternoon for the ceremonial ground breaking for the Clayton Road resurfacing and trail project. The ceremony marked the beginning of Phase 1 of the three-phase project to repave Clayton Road from Hwy 141 to the city limits near Bopp Road. The project also includes creating a multi-use pedestrian trail on the north side of Clayton Road and installing a pedestrian walkway on the existing bridge over Hwy 141 which will connect the sidewalk on the north side of Clayton Road at Old Woods Mill Road to the intersection at Clayton Road and Woods Mill Road. Join Town and Country in a groundbreaking celebration at Longview Farm Park.
The City of Town and Country will host a groundbreaking celebration for the Clayton Road Trail on September 15 at Longview Farm Park. The groundbreaking will start at 4:30 p.m. at the corner of Clayton and South Mason Roads. Refreshments will be served afterward until 6:30 p.m. at the Longview Farm House. The parks department requests that attendees send an RSVP to nixona@town-and-country.org if they wish to attend the groundbreaking event, which is free. This ceremony will mark the beginning of Phase 1 construction on the trail, which will run from Longview Park to just pass Topping Road, west of Hwy 270.
