How Long Will You Wait to See An ER Doc Near Town and Country or Manchester?

New Medicare database shows how hospitals across serving the region — and the rest of the nation — compare for care. Would the wait times for area emergency rooms surprise you?

If you go to the emergency room in Missouri, how long will it take before you see a medical professional? The federal government says 36 minutes on average. For residents of Town and Country - Manchester Patch, some of the closest emergency room options are St. Lukes, Missouri Baptist Medical Center and Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Wait times at Missouri Baptist are below the state average, while the wait times are well above the state average at Mercy Hospital. At St. Lukes Hospital, the time waited to be seen came in under the state average, but the time waited for a room came in above the state average. 2012 Property Tax Rate to be Set in Town and Country

A public hearing for the city's 2012 property tax rate is scheduled for Monday night's Town and Country Board of Aldermen meeting. The city is once again proposing to maintain the city's current property tax rate at zero percent. Currently, residents in Town and Country do not pay a city property tax. Each year, cities across St. Louis County have to set their property tax rates.  The city's property tax rate has been zero percent since 1996, according to City Clerk Pam Burdt. (See the PDF portion of this article for specific information on these tax rates.) Woman Stealing From Businesses, Police Warn

Town and Country police warn to watch for Shelia Kirkendall. They say she is walking into businesses and stealing from unsuspecting employees.

Town and Country police  are warning residents and local businesses to be on the look out for Shelia Kirkendall, 45.  Captain Gary Hoelzer stated in an email to Town and Country - Manchester Patch that Kirkendall isa suspect in a number of thefts that happened this week at 670 Mason Ridge Centre. The office building is located behind the AAA building on North Forty Drive, just east of Mason Road. Hoelzer stated that Kirkendall enters office buildings and steals wallets from women’s purses. If she is confronted she makes up an excuse and leaves the building.  Hoelzer said Kirkendall has more than 40 arrests for stealing and 17 convictions. She was also arrested by Town and Country police on March 27 for stealing from Missouri Baptist …

Construction Industry Sees Growth Through West County Retailers

Experts suggest a growing demand for construction work, like that seen in West County, is a sign of economic recovery.

Local construction companies are finally seeing signs of economic recovery in both the national and St. Louis market.  Clayco is working on two million square feet of construction projects in the St. Louis area, including the Missouri Baptist West Pavilion and the recently completed BJC’s Clinical Learning Institute, a nursing school also located on the Missouri Baptist Town & Country campus. 2011: A Year of Business in Town and Country and Manchester

Despite a struggling economy, Town and Country and Manchester saw many new business additions in 20122. Here’s a look at the highlights from the "Patch" Business Breakdown.

The Bar Method was just finding its feet in January 2011. This unique ballet inspired exercise studio in Town and Country Crossings is the first of its kind in St. Louis. The studio is growing and owner Jessica Prasse is opening a second location in Brentwood this spring. In February, Patch checked into CODI the Boutique looking for Valentine bling. The handcrafted jewelry shop is the second location for local designer Courtney Hopson, who moved the store next to Whole Foods in Town and Country Crossing last fall, seeking better foot traffic. March saw the construction of Westminster Christian Academy, a brand new $70 million dollar school for junior and high school students. Neighbors Concerned by Missouri Baptist Medical Center Expansion

Missouri Baptist Medical Center is adding a new building and an eight-acre nature trail south of the campus.

Missouri Baptist Medical Center has been constructing a six-story “West Pavilion” on its flagship Town and Country campus since last spring. The tower will become the hospital’s new main entrance and will house operating rooms, procedure space and 96 patient rooms in 216,000 square feet of new space. The West Pavilion is scheduled for completion in 2013, but the first floor will open as soon as July 2012. As Missouri Baptist expands, nearby residents are contacting Town and Country - Manchester Patch with concerns. However, Missouri Baptist tells Patch it is working with neighbors to address their worries.
