Services Set For Stan Musial

The St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame legend died Saturday at the age of 92.

A public visitation for Stan Musial, the St. Louis Cardinals legend who died at his Ladue home Saturday at the age of 92, will be held Thursday at Cathedral Basillica, MLB.com reported Monday. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at the same location Saturday starting at 11:00 a.m. KMOX reports that Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York, the Most Reverend Robert J. Carlson, Archbishop of St. Louis, and Bishop Richard Stika will officiate the mass. A procession will then lead to Busch Stadium for a ceremony at the Musial Statue. 9/11 'March to the Arch' Heads Through Town and Country

The annual event to remember the Sept. 11 terror attacks left from Mike Duffy's in Town and Country and made its way down Clayton Road Tuesday morning.

The annual "March to the Arch" is a 21-mile memorial walk that begins in Town and Country and continues down to the Gateway Arch on the St. Louis riverfront. (For instant updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) As previously reported by Patch, the march begins at 9:11 a.m. each Sept. 11. Walkers leave from Mike Duffy's restaurant at Clayton Road and Highway 141. Walkers head downtown and begin the trek along Clayton Road.  The annual march to remember the 9/11 vicitims was sparked by West County resident Bo Drochelman on Sept. 11, 2002 when he decided to grab an American flag and and walk from his house near Weidman Road to the Gateway Arch. Manchester Honors Veterans This Veterans Day

A ceremony is scheduled at the city's new Veterans Memorial off Henry Avenue at 11 a.m. Friday.

A ceremony is scheduled at the city's new Veterans Memorial at Margaret Stoecker Park off Henry Avenue. It begins at 11 a.m. Friday. Manchester's Director of Economic Development Franz Kraintz tells Town and Country-Manchester Patch the public is invited to the free event.  Kraintz said it will be about 30 minutes and a "solemn moment of remembrance and reverence for the sacrifices made by all veterans" will take place at 11:11 a.m.  Kraintz plans to recognize the time of 11:11 a.m. on Nov. 11, 2011. "This is a once in a century happening, when all the times and dates line up," Kraintz told Patch.

Golf Tournament Raises Money in Teen's Memory

On Saturday morning, the Forest Park golf course was full in an effort to raise money for the Corey J. Donnelly Memorial Fund.

Under a perfect blue sky and pleasant 70-degree weather, more than 100 people gathered at Forest Park's golf course to honor the memory of Corey Donnelly, a Parkway South High School graduate who lost his life in a tragic car accident in 2003. Donnelly Memorial Fund, which was established to provide scholarships, instruments and lessons to students that can not afford them. Golf Tournament Benefits Corey J. Donnelly Memorial

Saturday, the 2011 Corey J. Donnelly Memorial Golf Tournament takes place in Forest Park. Proceeds go toward Parkway South music scholarships and much more.

Saturday, friends, family and community members will come out for the 2011 Corey J. Donnelly Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament is held every other year. This is the fourth year for the fundraiser, held at Forest Park. Donnelly is a 2002 Parkway South High School graduate who was killed in an automobile accident in April 2003. He was a 19-year-old student at St. Louis Community College at Meramec. Donnelly loved the marching band and was a member of the South High band all four years of high school, his mother Laurie King said. Since his death, his family has created the Corey J. Donnelly Memorial Fund to help other Parkway South students pursue music with funding for lessons and scholarships for seniors. This golf tournament raises …

Public Invited to Sunday Joplin Community Memorial Service

The service will remember those affected by the devastating tornado that struck the city last Sunday.

Missourians will gather in Joplin, MO, for a community memorial service in the wake of the devastating tornado that truck the city last Sunday. Seating for the public service starts at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, May 29. No tickets are required for the service, which will formally begin at 2 p.m. in the Taylor Performing Arts Center on the campus of Missouri Southern State University. Clergy from the Joplin area will lead the service, and a local choir will provide musical accompaniment. Gov. Jay Nixon will deliver a message, and President Barack Obama will offer brief remarks.
