West County Podiatrist Sentenced For Medicare Fraud

John Dailey, of West St. Louis County, was sentenced to eight months in prison and ordered to pay $60,000 after he pleaded guilty to charges of medicare fraud.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, John M. Dailey, 55, of West St. Louis County, was sentenced to eight months in prison and ordered to pay $60,000 Monday after he pleaded guilty to charges of medicare fraud in September. St. Lukes, Des Peres Hospital Doctor Reportedly Admits Overbilling Medicaid and Medicare

Dr. Wit A. Jamry reportedly pleaded guilty to federal health care fraud this week.

A doctor who reportedly reportedly had offices at both Des Peres Hospital and St. Lukes Hospital pleaded guilty to federal health care fraud Wednesday. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Dr. Wit A. Jamry, 62, admitted billing Medicare and Medicaid for services he had not performed. According to a Des Peres Hospital spokesperson, the physician was not employed by the hospital. West County Podiatrist Pleads Guilty To Medicare Fraud

Prosecutors say John Dailey, of West St. Louis County, pleaded guilty Friday to charges of medicare fraud in connection to his Washington, MO office.

John M. Dailey, of West St. Louis County, pled guilty to three counts of making false statements to the Medicare program about services he never provided to three patients, prosecutors stated in a news release Friday.  (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) According to the U.S. Attorney's Office release, Dailey is a podiatrist whose practice was located in Washington, MO. Dailey faces up to five years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000 for each of the three counts. What a shame... Las Vegas, Nevada and Hawaii! I am probably a bit "old school" but in my mind doctors still have a special role and this gives them obligations, starting with exemplarity. I often say that "politicians care about power, companies care about money, doctors care about people"... well we have an exception here :-( I hope that it will not raise suspicion against this noble profession…   more ›

Town and County Doctor Sentenced For Cancer Drug Scam

Local cancer doctor sentenced and ordered to pay more than $1 million for purchasing misbranded cancer treatment drugs, according to prosecutors.

Abid Nisar of Town and Country was sentenced to 2 years probation and 200 hours of community service, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office Friday. In a news release, prosecutors stated that Nisar will also pay $1,000,336 in restitution to Medicare in connection to false claims for payment to the Medicare. As previously reported by Patch, Nisar, whose office is in Florissant pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of receiving misbranded prescription drugs, including Neupogen®, Herceptin®, and Rituxan®.   Prosecutors announced Nasir's sentence Friday in the following news release.
