As police attempted to make arrests Oct. 24, investigators said the driver tried to pull away, knocking over a one detective and throwing him under the wheels. A woman is accused of entering her former workplace and stealing $200 from a dry cleaning business in Manchester. Kaitlin Sitze, 22, of Woodlawn Terrace Court in Ellisville, was charged Friday with second-degree burglary and misdemeanor theft. Manchester Police said Sitze never returned a key to Dry Clean Spot, 14332 Manchester Road, after she was fired. She was captured on video entering the store using the key after hours between 5:45 p.m. Oct. 20 and 6 p.m. Oct. 22 and taking $200 from the cash register, police said. The Manchester Board of Aldermen recently heard from Manchester Police Chief Tim Walsh on a proposed plan to renew the city's contract with the Ballwin Police Department for police dispatching services. The Parkway Coalition for Community Health is competing for a $500,000 grant to prevent drug abuse and suicide among its students. Police want the grant used to reinstate the DARE program.
The Parkway School District is one of twenty non-profit entities vying for a $500,000 grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health. If successful, the grant would be spread out over five years and fund a community outreach program to battle drug and tobacco use as well as prevent suicide among its students. The Missouri Foundation for Health will announce grant recipients in 2013. The privately funded foundation has awarded over $450 million in health related grants since 2000. A Manchester police pulls over a suspicious vehicle and reportedly finds evidence of drugs and recent burglaries.
The following information was supplied by the Manchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made. According to Manchester police, an officer on routine patrol on June 19, noticed a car that appeared to be being driven in a "suspicious manner." The officer stopped the car in the 1100 block of Autumn Creek Drive. The stop led to the arrest of the driver and passenger after police said evidence of items from a burglary and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. Manchester residents will be able to recycle electronics and appliances once a month, beginning in July.
Electronics Recycling At Monday night's Manchester Board of Aldermen meeting, Mayor David Willson announced the once-a-month recycling event will begin July 21. The Manchester Police Department held its 6th annual “Clean Up For Special Olympics” at Tucker’s Place. Check out photos from the event.
Tucker’s Place was bustling on Thursday evening as Manchester police bussed tables for the 6th Annual Clean Up For Special Olympics. “Last year we were able to donate around $7,000, after donations from Tucker’s Place and Walmart,” said Chief Tim Walsh. “And this year, I think we’re doing pretty good. It’s busy. We’ve been on wait since 5:30.” Chief Walsh says he is proud of the event, and it will continue to go on as long as they are welcome at Tucker’s Place.
