The Associated Press is reporting that two winning Powerball tickets were sold for last night's drawing.
No one has stepped forward yet, but the Associated Press is reporting that two winning tickets were sold for last night's Powerball lottery. The AP says the winning Powerball tickets came from Missouri and Arizona. The winning numbers are 5, 16, 22, 23, 29 with the Powerball number of 6, according to the Powerball website. Missouri Lottery officials say the winning ticket came from the Kansas City area. An exact store location will be released later today, according to spokeswoman Susan Goedde. “It is so exciting to sell one of these Powerball tickets,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery, in a press release. “In addition, we sold two tickets that matched all five white balls, which means they each win $1 …

The winning numbers are 5, 16, 22, 23, 29 with the Powerball number of 6, according to the Powerball website. The Powerball lottery drawing took place Wednesday night at 9:59 p.m. Central time. A live drawing was available on hundreds of TV stations and on YouTube. Each Powerball ticket cost $2. Players chose five numbers plus a sixth Powerball number. The Missouri Lottery issued its list of winners for the month of October. More than $6.4 million in prizes worth $1,000 or more were given away in October, according to the Lottery release. Residents are contacting police saying they've been targeted by scam artists.

Jon Jenkins of Manchester was one of the $10,000 Mega Millions winners according to Missouri Lottery officials.
According to a recent news release by Missouri Lottery, more than $10.3 million in prizes was awarded in the month of April. The release states Jon Jenkins of Manchester was among those winners, being awarded $10,000 in the Mega Millions lottery. But how do Missourians rank in lottery spending and the "Sucker Index"? Bloomberg released its results and opinions about those aspects. AOL Daily Finance puts it in perspective in an article stating true "winners" are few and far between.
Bloomberg, a leading source of business and finance news, recently released a new report about a Sucker Index associated with people who expect to win huge profits in state lotteries. One might expect Missourians from the Show Me State to be more conservative in this area, compared to perceived cultural styles of other state residents. However, Missouri was in the slightly upper middle of the pack in lottery spending, ranking No. 18 out of 43 states tracked in the survey.
