Latest on Longview Farm Parking Expansion Project

An update on the parking project for Longview Farm Park in Town and Country, including green space changes and how cars will likely enter and exit the park.

Monday night Town and Country aldermen voted to authorize Director of Parks and Recreation Anne Nixon to apply for a municipal park grant to be applied to the Longview Farm Park parking expansion project.  (Sign up here for the FREE Patch Newsletter, including Breaking News Alerts.) The grant will be used for construction, which Alderman Alderman Skip Mange says is estimated to cost a $122,496. Currently, the total parking project cost is estimated at $141,916.  (Read more here on the cost of the Longview Park parking project.) Prior to the Monday's vote, Mange updated aldermen on the progress of the Longview parking project and said there are some changes to the plan. Solar Panels, Longview Parking Before Town and Country Aldermen Monday

Town and Country aldermen could vote on the city's new solar panel ordinance Monday night. Some resident's feel the currently proposed plan makes it to difficult for residents to go green easily.

A vote could come Monday night on a proposed solar panel ordinance for the City of Town and Country. (Sign up here for the FREE Patch Newsletter, including Breaking News Alerts.) As previously reported by Patch, the City of Town and Country is considering an ordinance that would put guidelines in place for residents who want to install solar energy systems.   The planning and zoning commission worked closely with Town and Country Planning Director Sharon Rothmel, to develop the proposed ordinance to give residents some direction of what is permitted so they have guidelines to follow in the future. A public hearing was held on the issue at the last board of aldermen meeting on Sept. 24. Engineer to Study, Prepare Plans For Longview Farm Parking Expansion

Town and Country aldermen take another step in the direction of expanding parking at Longview Farm Park. Aldermen voted to bring an engineer on board Monday night.

A vote at Monday night's Town and Country Board of Aldermen meeting takes the city another step closer to adding additional parking spaces to Longview Farm Park. Aldermen voted to authorize the city to enter into an agreement with Sterling Engineering to bring an engineer on board and move forward with the Longview Farm parking expansion project. The vote also appropriated $15,000 for the engineerig contract with Sterling Engineering.   (Follow Patch on Facebook for updates- check out our page and "Like" it here.)  The vote comes after the June 11 board of aldermen meeting, where Alderman Skip Mange updated aldermen on the parking study and asked aldermen to appropriate $15,000 for the engineering contract. Time to Commit to Longview Farm Parking Project

It's time for Town and Country aldermen to decide if the city will move forward with the Longview Farm parking expansion project by bringing an engineer on board.

The Longview Farm Park parking report was discussed by Town and Country aldermen Monday night. Despite efforts by a few Town and Country residents, in March, the Municipal Park Grant Commission of St Louis County unanimously approved funding for a $4,000 engineering study grant for the project. In April, Longview Park traffic trends and planned events were presented to Town and Country aldermen as they evaluate the need for additional parking and the Longview parking expansion project. The project would add 15 additional parking spots to the park. Town and Country aldermen are set to learn more about the Longview Farm parking study that's been under way for months Monday night.

The Longview Farm Park parking report is set to be discussed during the the work session prior to Monday night's Town and Country Board of Aldermen meeting. In April, Longview Park traffic trends and planned events were presented to Town and Country aldermen as they evaluate the need for additional parking and the Longview parking expansion project. Clayton Road Resurfacing Update

Road crews are making progress on resurfacing Clayon road as they conduct night work this week. Here's what's in store for the rest of the week.

Town and Country Department of Public Works Director Craig Wilde reports that resurfacing west of Mason Road is compete and offers an update Thursday on what's still to come. He said traffic delays will be minimal. Wilde released the following information in an email update on the Clayton Road Trail and Resurfacing Project.  Over the last two nights, we managed to complete the new surface west of  Mason Road.  The only paving work which remains on that end of the project is the tie in for the pavement at Masonridge Road.  Currently, we are paving the westbound lane between Oak Springs and Mason and will attempt to make the return trip covering the eastbound lane yet tonight.  This will leave only the center lane between Oak Springs and …

The Town and Country Board of Aldermen meets Monday night. In addition to agenda items, aldermen are set to once again address changes to Longview Farm Park.  In the work session prior to the meeting, a timeline will be discussed for future issues regarding the park and possible parking lot expansion project. Town and Country Moving Forward With Longview Parking Project

Aldermen voted to authorize the city to apply for a $4,000 planning grant , but it's a decision not all residents support.

At Monday's Town and Country Board of Aldermen meeting, aldermen voted 5:3 to move forward with the Longview Farm Park parking lot expansion project. The vote authorizes the Parks and Recreation Department to apply for a $4,000 planning grant to prepare engineering construction drawings for the parking lot expansion project.   Residents also spoke out against the project Monday night, as they have at previous meetings. They have also created an online petition in opposition of the parking expansion. Longview Parking, Solar Panels Top Town and Country Board of Aldermen Agenda

A vote for a grant may move the Longview Farm Park parking project ahead to the next step, while solar panels are back on the board of aldermen agenda.

At Monday's Town and Country Board of Aldermen meeting, a vote could come that would move forward the Longview Park parking lot expansion project. Vote Delayed on Longview Farm Parking Expansion Grant

Residents asked for the vote to be postponed as they post an online petition opposing the project. However, a vote could come at the next board of aldermen meeting on Feb. 13.
