Parkway Central Colts Crash Ladue's Senior Softball Party

Colts parlay timely hitting and pitching to beat the Rams 8-2.

Wednesday was senior softball day at Ladue High. The West Campus field was festooned with balloons and signage; there were cookies to go around and plenty of photos to take. The Colts of Parkway Central crashed the Rams party. The Colts jumped on Ladue’s pitcher Natalie Grimm for four-first inning runs; banged out 12 hits and ruined the Rams day with a run-away 8-2 win. Look for more photos on the Ladue-Frontenac, Olivette, Creve Coeur, Town and Country and Chesterfield Facebook Pages. Senior lefty Jamie Lazaroff dazzled on the mound. She scattered 4 hits over 7 frames and had 6 strikeouts and for good measure went 2 for 4 at the plate for the win. Ladue used three pitches in the losing effort. The Colts rose to 5-8 while Ladue still has a…

Stricter Bullying Legislation Pushed by Rep. Sue Allen, Again

Missouri State Representative Sue Allen, (R) Town and Country, wants school districts required to establish bullying policies and put them in writing, so clear guidelines are in place.

Missouri State Representative Sue Allen, (R) Town and Country, plans to reintroduce bullying legislation later this year that will require school districts to establish their own bullying policies and put them in writing so school staff, parents and students have clear steps to follow when filing complaints.  (Sign up here for the FREE Patch Newsletter, including Breaking News Alerts.) Allen tells Town and Country - Manchester Patch, this move is not a reaction to the recent news of an "ugly tradition" in the form of a senior list that's been reportedly circulating within the Ladue School District for more than a decade. However, she said that incident is an example of why school districts need to have clear policies and guidelines in …

Opinion: Ladue 'Takes Issue' With US News Methodology

The school district is irked that it did not appear in the magazine's rankings of the nation's best schools.

US News and World Report released their "best high schools" in the nation ranking last week. We did not make the list due to the methodology used. Clearly, we take issue with the methodology and have expressed this to US News. However, as you will see from the attached information, we will not "fall victim" to the flaw in the methodology going forward, making any kind of correction unlikely. The Ladue School District has always considered ACT results to be a fair criteria for judging our success, as the vast majority of our students take the test, and it specifically measures college preparedness in a way that is considered acceptable to a broad number of institutions - specifically colleges and universities. As you will note in the …

Three More Weeks of Construction on Woods Mill, Hwy 141 and Ladue Road

If all goes as planned, three big traffic shifts happen Nov. 22.

In three weeks, on Nov. 22, anyone who drives Woods Mill-Highway 141 between Conway Road and Olive Boulevard, or Ladue Road at the 141 intersection should see a change, and feel relief that heavy construction may be over. The Missouri Department of Transportaion (MoDOT) believes new bypasses and links among the old and new roads will open up for traffic.  “In a perfect world, at the exact same time,” according to MoDOT Resident Engineer Jesse Jonas, three things will happen Nov. 22—a Tuesday. “This is where it gets crazy. A lot happens then,”  Jonas said. When those three things happen, traffic will be in the configuration it will be in for most of the duration of the rest of the project. Shifting north-south traffic onto the new Route 141…
