After a disappointing finish last season, the Parkway South boys soccer team bounced back in grand fashion this season, winning its first district title since 1993 before losing to Jackson in sectionals. Overall, the Patriots finished with a 17-7-3 record, a vast improvement over last season's 12-9-2 effort, while winning nine of their final 11 matches. According to coach Al Trost, the reasons for such improvement go beyond better coaching on his part. "For some reason, we had better chemistry," said Trost. "The seniors were really influential in bringing everyone together. Also, it was obvious that our key players worked hard in the off-season.
