Fire Crews Give 'All Clear' After Gas Leak
The gas leak that closed roads and backed up traffic Friday is repaired and the area deemed no longer a danger.
A gas leak that closed roads and had Town and Country traffic backed-up for hours Friday is repaired and the area determined to be safe by the West County EMS and Fire Protection District. A Brinkmann Constructors work crew struck and opened a 4-inch gas main at the corner of South Outer 40 Road and Maryville Center Drive in Town and Country around 2:15 p.m. Friday. West County EMS and Fire responded with Laclede Gas Company and the Missouri Department of Transportation to gain control of the leak. The leak was next door to Delmar Gardens Villas West and the construction site of the new Westminster Christian Academy. A cloud of gas was seen floating over Highway 40.
