National Coffee Day: Where Do You Get Your Java?

Sept. 29 is National Coffee Day! Tell Patch where you get your caffeinated brew of choice.

Coffee has become more essential than just being "the best part of waking up."  National Coffee Day, celebrated Sept. 29 this year, is another reason to grab that cup o' joe you love so much.  Although local franchises, including Starbucks and McDonalds, aren't giving away free coffee Saturday, they're still serving up your favorite brew. Where do you like to go for your favorite venti no-whip nonfat white mocha? Or just black iced coffee? Maybe lightly sweetened? However you like it, share your favorite local stop that's maybe more convenient on the way out to work, or that cozy hang-out for a quick ceramic mug-full of the house brew of the day. Go ahead. Be a coffee conneisseur, or even a casual I-need-caffeine partaker. Vote in the poll…

Where to Get Free Coffee for National Coffee Day 2012

Celebrate with free coffee, but not at Starbucks or McDonalds in Town and Country and Manchester. However, St. Louis area 7-Eleven stores are offering free coffee Friday.

If the first words out of your mouth every morning are, “I’ll have a large coffee”—or if you can’t even speak until after you’ve had your java fix—there's a national holiday created especially for you. (Sign up here for the FREE Patch Newsletter, including Breaking News Alerts.) America will put staunch tea drinkers to shame on National Coffee Day on Sept. 29, when coffee fiends can rejoice and celebrate their beloved coffee bean with free brew from national chains. Coffee was first brought to America in the mid-1600s in a shipment en route to “New Amsterdam,” now known as New York, according to the National Coffee Association. We have that shipment and the Boston Tea Party to thank for turning the nation into coffee drinkers.   However, …

Free Food For a Kiss at Qdoba This Valentine's Day

Buy an entree, get another for nothing, as long as you're willing to offer up a kiss! Plus, take the Valentine's Day 'Patch' poll.

Customers at Qdoba restaurants across the country, and here in West County, get free food on Tuesday, if they don't mind a little PDA. Both the Town and Country Qdoba in Town and Country Crossing and the Manchester Qdoba near the Manchester Highlands are participating in the buy one, get one free for a kiss deal. The nationwide chain is bringing back a Valentine's Day promotion that, according to spokeswoman Ashley Cohen, tens of thousands of customers took advantage of in 2011. Anyone who buys an entree can get another for free—once they kiss a fellow customer at the cash register. It doesn't matter (to Qdoba) who it is. No coupon is necessary. The promotion is happening nationwide, though in Wisconsin, inexplicably, the second entree is …
