New Chief Named For West County EMS And Fire

Ernie Rhodes was named as the new fire chief Thursday evening. The former St. Charles fire chief brings 32 years of experience to the district.

Ernie Rhodes replaces David Frazier who served as the West County EMS & Fire Protection District fire chief since 2004. As previously reported by Patch, Frazier has been with the fire district since 1987, but was "reassigned" from fire chief to deputy chief of logistics in June. Since then, the fire district has been operating without an official chief, but after a local and national search, the fire board announced Rhodes as the district's new chief Thursday evening. New West County Fire Chief Likely Named This Week

The person who will replace former Fire Chief David Frazier is expected to be announced Thursday.

The West County EMS & Fire Protection District has not had a fire chief since June, when former fire chief David Frazier was "reassigned" from fire chief to deputy chief of logistics. As previously reported by Town and Country - Manchester Patch, Deputy Chief Jeff Sadtler has served as acting fire chief of the district since the change and a search for a new chief got underway. West County Fire Chief Search Underway, Candidates to be Reviewed

The West County EMS and Fire Protection District board is reviewing candidates, while former fire chief David Frazier Jr. tells Patch he found out he was no longer chief the day the board voted on the change.

The West County EMS & Fire Protection District is in the process of finding a new EMS and Fire Chief. Fire board members tell Patch that the application period for the local and national search ended July 27 and they hope to meet with all parties involved in the decision making process in the next week or two. Two New Hires for West County EMS and Fire

After laying off three employees and demoting Fire Chief Dave Frazier last month, the West County EMS and Fire Protection District announces two new firefighter/paramedics.

According to Deputy Chief Jeff Sadtler, Firefighter/Paramedic Joe Bauer began employment on June 5 and will be assigned to Station 2 on C-Shift. Bauer comes from Warren County Ambulance District where he worked for three years. Firefighter/Paramedic Cody Jennemann began his employment on June 26 and will be assigned to Station 3 on B-Shift. New Details on West County Fire Chief Demotion

The West County EMS and Fire Protection District's acting fire chief updated Town and Country city leaders on "reappointment" of David Frazier Jr. from fire chief to deputy chief of logistics.

The now Acting Fire Chief, Deputy Chief Jeff Sadtler, told Town and Country aldermen and the city's mayor that he can't talk much on the issue citing it being a personnel issue, but he did say that David Frazier Jr. went from fire chief to deputy chief of logistics earlier this month. "Chief Frazier has been reappointed to a new role as deputy chief of logistics. The position is evolving," Sadtler said Monday night. "We appeciate your patience while we reinvent and reengineer." West County Fire Issues Statement on Fire Chief's Demotion

The West County EMS and Fire Protection District issued a statement Monday regarding the position change this month of David Frazier from fire chief to deputy chief of logistics.

West County Fire Chief Reportedly Demoted

David Frazier has been demoted as fire chief for West County EMS & Fire Protection District and doesn't know why, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, David Frazier has reportedly been demoted from chief to deputy chief of logistics of the West County EMS & Fire Protection District. The Post reports that the job change took place on June 11 and Frazier said he was not made aware of the reasons for the demotion. The article states that Deputy chief Jeff Sadtler is now acting as chief of the district. Neither Frazier or Sadtler were able to be reached by Patch for comment or clarifiction Wednesday evening about the reported changes within the fire district.
