Long-Awaited Project to Build New I-64 Bridge Begins
Construction crews have started work on a new span of the Daniel Boone Bridge that will eventually replace the narrow, 1935 westbound portion connecting Chesterfield and St. Charles County.
Local officials praised the start of construction on a new span of the I-64 Daniel Boone Bridge as the culmination of many years worth of effort at a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday. The ceremony included officials from the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission and MoDOT along with federal, state and local elected officials and area business leaders. "There are a lot of people who have worked hard for a long time to get to this point," MoDOT District Engineer Ed Hassinger said.
