Police are alerting residents that a female was seen tampering with a window to a home Thursday, but left when she noticed a neighbor nearby.

Town and Country police sent out an email alert Thursday warning residents of suspicious activity in the area. Police stated that around 8:00 a.m. Thursday, a female was observed removing a screen from a window in the rear of a house in the 12800 block of Thornhill Court. After noticing a nearby resident, the female left in what was possibly a small black SUV, according to the email alert. Town and Country police say the First Bank in Lamp & Lantern Village was robbed around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Town and Country police say the First Bank at 383 Lamp & Lantern Village was robbed around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities are not releasing specific details on the robbery, but tell Patch a weapon was implied. The suspect was caught on surveillance video before fleeing on foot, according to investigators. A photo is included in this article. The bank is located near the intersection of Woods Mill and Clayton Roads. Town and Country detectives are searching for the suspect, described as a female wearing heavy makeup and a wig, in her mid 20s to early 30s, 5-feet to 5-foot-three inches with a slender build. Police say the man heard glass break and found would-be burglars trying to get into his neighbor's home.

Investigators say the incident happened around 8 p.m. in the 900 block of Sunburst Lane. A neighbor who heard glass breaking reportedly went outside to investigate the noise. According to police, the resident found two people trying to break into his neighbor's home.
