He said he worked on the South Side Rapist case, which took 25 years to solve. “We want to get …

Last year, Brent Woody entered a guilty plea on a federal count of transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
A former Parkway Central basketball coach who was set to be sentenced Thursday on a federal count of transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity will now wait until February to learn his fate. Brent Woody issued a guilty plea in federal court back in October. Under federal sentencing guidelines, he could face 10 years to life in prison, and/or a fine of up to $250,000, as well as supervised release for life. Authorities say Woody had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student. He remains charged in St. Louis County Court with 15 counts of statutory rape. Officials are asking people to stay away from the area around Smith Creek for the next 2 to 3 days as a precaution.
Crews from the Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) are cleaning up the scene of a sewer line break which dumped 215,000 gallons of sewage into Smith Creek in Creve Coeur. An MSD spokesperson tells Patch the leak was discovered Tuesday morning and that crews remain on site to pump out the creek and will be there for the next few days. MSD also plans to be in touch with Bellerive Country Club, which is near the area. A statement from the utility did not say when the break happened. The area involved is on Chamblee Lane, an area between Ladue Road and Mason Road. People are being asked to stay away from that area of the creek for the next 2 to 3 days. A statement released Wednesday morning did not describe what may have caused the leak.
