Traffic Ahead: Use that Horn! (When Appropriate)

Construction south, west and more west this week.

What's even more maddening than road closures and construction? Inconsiderate, irresponsible drivers that make you just shake your head in disbelief. Each week on Patch, we'll highlight some of these Traffic Troublemakers, plus give you a look at what to expect on the roads courtesy of the Missouri Department of Transportation. A possibly too-polite Central County Patch editor reports: While traveling recently on westbound Page Avenue near Lindbergh Boulevard, I noticed a car off in the far right lane. It appeared to be exiting for northbound Lindbergh—until it decided to careen into my lane, right in front of my vehicle.  It's yet another example of a time I probably could have used my horn and didn't. Traffic Alert: Ladue Road Closing After Morning Rush Hour

A reminder to drivers: Ladue Road is set to close east of Highway 141 after Thursday morning rush hour.

A reminder to drivers: Ladue Road is set to close east of Highway 141 after Thursday morning rush hour. MoDOT expects the road to remain closed for 40 days as crews work to connect Ladue Road with the new Route 141 interchange. MoDOT advises drivers to use Mason and Conway roads as detours around the closure. Local traffic will be able to use Ladue Road between Mason Road and the closure, which will be right at Route 141. In a news release, MoDOT stated that the work is part of a $44.5 million project to relocate Highway 141 slightly east of its current location. The release states that the project will reduce the possibility of flooding on the route, as well as reduce congestion and improve safety.  MoDOT said the project includes several…

Ladue Road Closure Briefly Postponed

The shutdown of Ladue Road east of Highway 141 was planned for Monday. Now it's postponed, but only for a few days.

Remember the shutdown of Ladue Road east of Highway 141 planned for Monday? It's been postponed — but only for a few days. The new date is Oct. 13, after the morning rush hour. That's pushed back from Monday because, MoDOT said, it needed a few more days to line up the equipment needed for the project. (Read Previous Story: Ladue to Close for 40 Days at 141 While Interchange is Built) The agency and contractor Fred Weber will close the route for up to 40 days to connect Ladue Road to the new interchange under construction at the intersection of Ladue and 141. Mason and Conway roads will be the best detours during the project. For several months now, drivers have been using a makeshift detour on westbound Ladue Road to Hwy. 141, north to an…
