That did not happen, so the company stated that is the cause for the shut down. Hostess said it made the decision Thursday evening and issued the following statements on its website Friday: We are sorry to announce that Hostess Brands, Inc. has been forced by a Bakers Union strike to shut down all operations and sell all company assets.  Hostess Brands …

Traffic Ahead: A Heads-Up For Those Going to the Blues Game Saturday

The exit closures continue downtown, and the Blanchette Bridge will have some lanes closed overnight.

Traffic Troublemakers What's even more maddening than road closures and construction that slow you down? Inconsiderate, irresponsible drivers that make you just shake your head in disbelief. Each week on Patch, we'll highlight some of these Traffic Troublemakers, plus give you a look at what to expect on the roads courtesy of the Missouri Department of Transportation. Traffic Ahead: If You Have to Go Downtown, Take I-44

All lanes on eastbound I-64 in downtown St. Louis will close this weekend.

What's a bigger Traffic Troublemaker than a driver/texter/talker? Not much, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said this week. An August, 2010, collision on I-44 in Gray Summit, MO, killed two and injured 35. One driver was "most likely distracted from the driving task by a text messaging conversation at or near the time of the accident," according to the NHSB. The national board recommends that every state ban nonemergency use of portable electronic devices for all drivers. Do you agree? Take our poll below!   From MoDOT, work zones for December 15-21 All lanes on eastbound I-64 in downtown St. Louis will close this weekend In downtown St. Louis, all lanes on eastbound I-64 from Jefferson to 6th Street will close this weekend…
