UPDATED: Filing Begins for April 2012 Election

Candidate filings for the April 3, 2012 city government elections officially open in Manchester and Town and Country Tuesday morning.

UPDATE NOV. 15: Town and Country Ward 4 Alderman Phil Behnen has filed for reelection in the April 2012 election. UPDATE: All Manchester incumbents have filed for re-election, including Mayor David Willson. So far, the Ward 1 race is the only one to be challenged. Alderman Hal Roth is the incumbent. Manchester resident Barbara Stevens has also filed as a candidate for Ward 1 Alderman. In Town and Country, Ward 2 Alderman Al Gerber is the only incumbent who has file for re-election as of 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Deer Management Again Tops The Talk of Town and Country

Although the Town and Country Board of Aldermen agenda was a brief one Monday, the meeting began with residents once again speaking out about the city's consideration of bow hunting as one option for deer management.

Residents shared statistics and stories as they expressed their opposition to the proposal. Town and Country Board of Aldermen Meets Monday Night

A vote could come on a new grandstand at Maryville University and more at Monday night's Town and Country Board of Aldermen meeting.

The Town and Country Board of Aldermen meets Monday night and could vote on a number of issues including a new grandstand at Maryville University, accepting a settlement for damaged pavement during a sewer district project and moving forward with Phase III of the Clayton Road Resurfacing and Pedestrian Enhancement Project. New City Seat Belt Law Discussed at Monday's Manchester Board of Aldermen Meeting

Manchester police could soon pull people over for not wearing their seat belts. The Manchester Board of Aldermen could vote on that proposal Monday night.

Manchester police could soon pull people over for not wearing their seat belts. The Manchester Board of Aldermen could vote on that proposal Monday night. It's an idea that Acting Police Chief Tim Walsh supports. He tells Town and Country and Manchester Patch that many surrounding municipalities, including Ballwin, Chesterfield and Creve Coeur already have a primary seat belt law in place and he feels it's time Manchester does too. Currently, it is a Missouri state law that drivers and passengers must wear their seat belts, but if a city does not have a primary seat belt law, police can only ticket people for not wearing seat belts if they are pulled over for another offense.
