Chocolate Soup Closing in Town and Country

The clothing store had been in the shopping center at Clayton and Mason roads since the 70s, but now it's closing its doors. Clothing and accessories are discounted beginning Tuesday.

Chocolate Soup has been in business since 1970, but Store Manager Margie Cass tells Patch it will close its doors on on Feb. 25.  (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) "The people that bought the business about three years ago just don't want to do it anymore," Cass explained. "They're just moving on to something else and we just don't have a buyer."  Cass says the children's clothing store originally opened in 1970 in Clayton, along Forsyth Boulevard, but moved to its current location in Town and Country's Mason Woods shopping center in 1975.  She said the people who started the business retired a few years ago and the new owners had not been involved in retail prior to purchasing Chocolate Soup.
