Shoplifting Suspect Caught After Police Pursuit

An attempt to arrest a shoplifting suspect ends with a police chase across Highway 141.

Manchester police tell Town and Country - Manchester Patch that they got the call around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday of a suspected shoplifter at the Manchester Highlands Walmart. According to Manchester Police Sergeant Sheree Waterhouse, when police tried to take the man in his 20s into custody, he reportedly fled and a foot pursuit ensued. Waterhouse tells Patch two officers chased the suspect who fled across Highway 141. She said the man was apprejended by 11 a.m. near the Manchester Methodist Church cemetery just west of Hwy 141. According to Waterhouse, the man had a knife in his possession, but he never displayed it. Manchester Police Captain Chuck Hunn said the man was using the knife to open boxes in Walmart. UPDATED: Town and Country Police Pursue Van After Chesterfield Mall Robbery Call

Town and Country police were involved in a police pursuit as authorities tried to catch a van in connection to an alleged robbery at Chesterfield Mall.

UPDATED -  Town and Country police were involved in a police pursuit Thursday as authorities tried to catch a car in connection to a reported robbery at Chesterfield Mall. A 24-year-old woman and 21-year-old man were suspects in a shoving incident with a store clerk during a shoplifting attempt. The 24-year-old was detained by police, Chesterfield police said. The 21-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman then apparently fled in a silver Pontiac Montana. Police Captain Gary Hoelzer tells Town and Country - Manchester Patch the pursuit began in Frontenac after the alleged robbery. Town and Country police became involved when the van, with two people inside, moved through Town and Country on northbound Interstate 270. The chase finally ended …

Police Pursuit Ends With Crash in Manchester

A police pursuit that started in St. Louis city ended with a crash in Manchester Sunday night.

A police pursuit that started in St. Louis city ended with a crash in Manchester Sunday night. The pursuit started with St. Louis Metropolitan Police. A police helicopter was also called in and followed the vehicle as it fled St. Louis police through West County. Manchester Police Sergeant Dan West tells Town and Country - Manchester Patch his department was notified they had a police pursuit heading in their direction around 10:45 p.m. Sunday.  West said the car was heading west on Manchester and crashed at Highway 141. "No sooner did we get the call the pursuit was coming, than 30 seconds later the crash happened," West explained.
