Woman Loans Thief Her Phone, Thief Flees

Manchester police are investigating after a woman said someone asked to borrow her cell phone, then took off with it.

The following information was supplied by the Manchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made. April 26: 14200 block Manchester Road Stealing: Victim reports that a subject asked to borrow her cell phone.  Upon receiving the cell phone, the subject ran to a car and the car left the scene. April 26: 800 block Meramec Station Road Theft of Motor Fuel: Suspect pumped $60 worth of gasoline and left without paying. April 28: 200 block Highlands Boulevard Drive Stealing/Shoplifting May 1: 800 block Hanna Road Stealing: A cell phone was stolen from a desk while left unattended. Stolen GPS, Cell Phones Found in Creek by Resident

Manchester police are looking for the rightful owners after the electronics were found and turned in to authorities.

The following information was supplied by the Manchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made. Jan. 8: 300 block Spring Meadows Drive Lost & Found: A resident turned in to police several GPS devices and cell phones that were found in a creek. Police said some were under ice. Investigators are now searching for the rightful owners of the electronics. Police tell Patch the items were stolen from cars outside the Manchester city limits in St. Louis County. Some items, including two Tom Tom GPS have been returned to their owners. The case is still under investigation. Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to contact…

Police Blotter: Vandalism and Cheesecake, Cellphone Thefts

Instead of paying less than $2, a man reportedly puts cheesecake in his pants in this most recent version of Manchester police blotter.

The following information was supplied by the Manchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made. Manchester June 14: 700 block of Hanna Road Property damage: Someone spray-painted on two picnic tables and a barbecue grill of a local business. Damage is estimated a $500. June 10: 400 block of Lafayette Center Stealing: A business called police after a man reportedly put a piece of cheesecake in his pants pocket and then left the store without paying for the dessert. The value of the stolen cake is $1.79. June 10: 800 block of Meramec Station Stealing: A man told police his cellphone was stolen while he was swimming. The man said he never saw anyone go near his belongings so there is no suspect. The …

My kids are currently too young for cell phones but I hope by the time they are more research will be done. If they were old enough, I'm not sure I would let one study determine our cell phone use.   more ›
