Charter Executive Offices Leaving St. Louis for Connecticut

Charter is relocating its corporate headquarters from Town and Country to Connecticut. Less than 100 jobs are leaving the St. Louis area, according to Charter.

Charter Communications is relocating its headquarters from Town and Country, located just off Interstate 270, to Connecticut. (Sign up here for the FREE Patch Newsletter, including Breaking News Alerts.) Charter Spokesperson Anita Lamont tells Patch that the move involves Charter's executive team which consists of nine executives and their support. "There are less than 100 people who would be going from St. Louis to Connecticut. It's the executive team and the people who report to them, their support staff, and they're not all going at the same time," Lamont said.  She said the executive offices have been in the St. Louis area near Interstate 270 and Manchester Road since 1993. Lamont said there is not a set date for the move, but the …

Charter Cable To Discriminate Against Senior Citizens, Starting Saturday

The communications company will require customers to use a digital box to watch Turner Classic Movies.

Let me say this—I have been into cable TV since its inception. In 1981 when my new bride was househunting for us in Kansas City while I worked the midnight shift as a police officer, my only instructions to her were this: the house had to get cable TV so I could watch baseball games with announcers Harry Carey (Cubs) and Skip Carey (Braves.)  So I like cable TV. And while I have written about my trials and tribulations in the last year with Charter Cable, I wasn’t so unhappy—until now.   On Saturday, April 21, Charter is changing the channel lineup. In doing so, a very few select channels will cross over into requiring a digital box. Some may consider that an upgrade. I don't, and others may not either. Hear me out. One of the chosen …

This really infuriates me. I haven't seen most of the movies on TCM, and I enjoy them at least partly because of the art form. For example, black-and-white filmmakers took some very creative steps to create "color." I am 65 years old, and I live in a senior-living facility, so I am one of those discriminated against by Charters. Please join me in calling them down on this!   more ›

Charter's 'All In': Stepping Up Customer Service - What Do You Think?

The company recently launched a bold new initiative aimed at keeping customers happy with a new customer satisfaction guarantee.

When I received an unexpected knock on my door from a Charter Communications representative earlier this week, I was pleasantly surprised. He wanted to know if I had been enjoying my services. When I said that all was well, the rep said that was all he needed. Since this was something that had never happened during the time I’ve been a customer (more than a decade), I reached out to Charter public relations representative, Jessica Hardecke, who told me that the visit was related to a new campaign the company recently rolled out. “The person that knocked on your door was likely one of our door-to-door sales reps,” Hardecke said. “One of their jobs while they’re out selling is to also make sure that current customers are happy with their …
