Guilty Pleas Wrap Up State Sex Charges Against Parkway Coach

Brent Woody was already sentenced for crossing state lines with a minor for purpose of having sex.

A former Parkway Central coach and substitute teacher who was already sentenced to 151 months in federal prison for transporting a minor across state lines to engage in sexual activity, was sentenced Friday to seven years in prison after pleading guilty in St. Louis County Court to 15 counts of statutory rape. The sentence will be served concurrently with the federal prison term, according to the Office of State Court Adminstrator's website, Casenet. A guilty plea in the federal case came in October 2011. According to a letter previously sent out to parents from Parkway Central Principal Tim Gannon, Woody was an employee at the school at the time of the incident. The letter also states that Woody worked as Central High's ninth grade girls …

Former Parkway Central Coach Brent Woody Sentenced to Prison

The former basketball coach was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison Monday for transporting a minor across state lines to engage in sexual activity. Read the federal indictment here which includes the alleged videotaping of sexual acts.

Brent Woody, 29, of Creve Coeur was sentenced to 151 months in prison Monday on charges of transporting a minor across state lines to engage in sexual activity, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office news release. As previously reported by Patch, the former Parkway Central High School basketball coach pleaded guilty in October to one count of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. Woody was arrested on Feb. 8, 2011, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. According to the federal indictment (which can be read in the PDF portion of this article), the crime was committed between January 2009 and July 2010. Sentencing Delay For Former Parkway Central Basketball Coach

Last year, Brent Woody entered a guilty plea on a federal count of transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.

A former Parkway Central basketball coach who was set to be sentenced Thursday on a federal count of transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity will now wait until February to learn his fate. Brent Woody issued a guilty plea in federal court back in October. Under federal sentencing guidelines, he could face 10 years to life in prison, and/or a fine of up to $250,000, as well as supervised release for life. Authorities say Woody had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student. He remains charged in St. Louis County Court with 15 counts of statutory rape. According to Casenet, his next scheduled court appearance there is set for January 27.

Ex-Parkway Coach Pleads Guilty In Sex Case

The United States Attorney's Office announced Friday that Brent Woody, a former coach at Parkway Central High School, issued a guilty plea in federal court to a single count of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. Sentencing is scheduled for January. Under federal sentencing guidelines, he could face 10 years to life in prison, and/or a fine of up to $250,000, as well as supervised release for life. Woody, 29, was first indicted by a federal grand jury in the case in January. He also faces 15 counts of statuory rape in St. Louis County Court. His attorney, Adam Fine, declined comment Friday afternoon.
