Man Stole $4,200 in Stereo Equipment With Fake Credit Card, Police Say

The man told police he got the card from someone who worked at one of the stereo equipment stores.

The following information was supplied by court documents. It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made. A man used a fake credit card to buy $4,182 worth of stereo equipment from stores in Manchester and South County, Manchester Police said. Erskine Yarbrough, of the 300 block of Fillmore Street in South St. Louis, was charged Monday with two counts of felony stealing. St. Louis County Police said Yarbrough bought a DVD receiver, two subwoofers and other stereo equipment from the South County Audio Express, 5616 South Lindbergh, in the Concord area, with a fraudulent prepaid credit card on Aug. 20. The equipment was valued at $2,180. Manchester Police said Yarbrough then used the same card on Aug. 21 to get $2,003 in stereo …
