More Lighting Planned For The Principia Athletic Field

Additional lighting will be set up on The Principia soccer field this summer. It's expected to benefit the school's athletics program, but not intrude on residents.

Town and Country aldermen recently approved allowing additional lighting to be set up on the soccer fields at The Principia. (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) School officials explained that the lighting will allow the school to host tournaments and improve the quality of practice time, including allowing student athletes to practice at night when summer heat warnings are issued during the daylight hours. The lights will also allow night games which will school staff said will improve fan attendance because games will be held when more people can attend. The new lights will sit on 50-foot stands and there will be visors around the edges of the actual lights to prevent them from shining away from the field. …

Men Sentenced For Credit Card Fraud From Town and Country Arrest

Two Massachusetts men arrested at Town and Country's Wellbridge Athletic Club for credit card fraud were sentenced in federal court Wednesday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Two Massachusetts men arrested at Town and Country's Wellbridge Athletic Club in February for credit card fraud were sentenced in federal court Wednesday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. (Read Previous Story: Two Arrested For Credit Card Fraud After Spotted in Town and Country Athletic Club) Jonathan Vendituoli, 55, of Swansea, Mass. and Kevin Cooney, 54, of Belmont, Mass. both pled guilty in April to credit card fraud and conspiracy to commit credit card fraud, stated the U.S. Attorneys Office in a news release. Police said the men are suspected of breaking into lockers at Wellbridge Athletic Club and Spa in Clayton, among other locations, and taking credit cards to purchase cameras, computer gear and other electronics, court …

The sentence was much to severe. With a sentence that is for 5-7 years there should be no restitution. Appeal the case.   more ›

What's New For Parkway This Year? A Lot.

The Parkway School District has made a number of changes. There are new school hours, a new superintendent, free kindergarten and more. Check out what's new for the 2011 - 2012 school year.

Tuesday is the first day of school for the Parkway School District's 2011- 2012 school year. The district has made a number of changes since May. Here is what's new.   NEW SCHOOL HOURS- The Parkway School Board approved new start and end times for all schools this year. The board also voted to move back the start and end times of all middle schools by almost one hour. The district also added 20 minutes to the elementary school day, which means all schools now have equal instructional time of six hours and 55 minutes, approximately an additional 10 days of class each year.
