Surveillance Camera Leads to Retirement Community Theft Arrest

Town and Country police said a six-year employee at the Mari de Villa Retirement Community was arrested thanks to surveillance video.

The following information was supplied by the Town and Country Police Department. (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) Town and Country - Manchester Patch contacted police after we were alerted to this incident at the Mari de Villa Retirement Community, 13900 Clayton Road in Town and Country, by an email from a Patch reader. Police tell Patch, a resident of Mari de Villa told management on April 19 that they were the victim of theft. Detectives met with Mari de Villa staff that same day and began the investigation, authorities stated. I don't agree. My mom is here and she is receiving great care. No where is perfect and knowing how difficult it is to take care of these residents I admire the dedication of the staff. Yes the food could be better. Yes staffing ratios can be challenging but go visit some other facilities and you will find the same issues. Man Who Caused Near-Collision Collects Fifth Impaired Driving Charge

Court documents indicated Todd R. Rinklin had an additional arrest April 1 on a possible DWI, which would give him six impaired driving charges.

A Des Peres man faces his fifth charge for driving under the influence of alcohol after being pulled over by St. Louis County Police on the outskirts of Manchester. Rinklin, 44, of the 12700 block of Wynfield Pines Court in Des Peres, was charged April 10 with driving while intoxicated as a chronic offender. He has four previous alcohol-related driving convictions and one additional arrest. St. Louis County Police said an officer pulled Rinklin over Jan. 26 after seeing him drive erratically on Carman Road at Daugherty Ferry Road just west of Des Peres. Manchester Police are warning residents that the Boston Marathon explosion is now being used by scammers to lure in donations online through websites and social media accounts.

Underage Man Wrestled Liquor Bottle From Gas Station Clerk, Police Say

Police said Tyler J. Miller of West County struggled with a worker in the convenience store and got away with the alcohol.

A 20-year-old man wrestled a liquor bottle away from a store clerk Thursday in Chesterfield, pushed the worker to the floor and left with the bottle, according to a police report. Miller, 20, of the 900 block of Wynhaven Lane in West County just west of Queeny Park, was charged with second-degree robbery. Chesterfield Police said Miller struggled over the liquor bottle with a clerk at the Mobil gas station, 14905 Clayton Road at Baxter Road. Miller is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Thieves Distract Best Buy Store Staff During Shoplifting Scheme

Manchester police are investigating after a resident found fraudulent charges on his credit card and a business owner found an unauthorized check written from his account.

Man Arrested In Connection to Dierbergs Soup Tampering

Manchester police say they have made an arrest and issued charges in connection a man seen on surveillance video allegedly tampering with soup at the Dierbergs salad bar.

As previously reported by patch, Manchester police are investigating after witnesses said they saw a man adding something to a pot of soup at the salad bar of the Dierbergs at 421 Lafayette Center. (For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) Wednesday, Manchester police told Patch an investigation involving police and the FBI led to an arrest in the case. Just read where the charges were going to be dropped because Dierberg's threw out the soup? Why in the world would they do that knowing it was evidence?
