In August of 1991, this Islamic school opened its doors to children enrolling in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The religious-based school embraces diversity and fosters a safe atmosphere for the 254 children currently in attendance. All teachers that make up the 20-person staff are certified.

Al Salam Day School is certified by the Missouri Nonpublic School Accrediting Association as well as the Council of Islamic Schools of North America. The school is part of a larger facility featuring the Dar Ul Islam Masjid mosque, a mosque library, school library, classrooms and a large gymnasium. Worship in the mosque takes place daily from 1pm - 1:30pm. Transportation is available for interested parties.
