Rep. Wagner’s Bill Seeks to Limit Federal Overreach

Congresswoman Ann Wagner’s (R- MO 2nd District) Retail Investor Protection Act, which is designed to protect families and businesses from increased federal overreach, was approved by the US House of Representatives this week.

H.R. 2374 received bipartisan support and passed the House by a vote of 254-166.

Rep. Wagner explained that the Department of Labor and the Securities and Exchange Commission are “headed toward massive rulemakings.”

While these pending regulations are meant to protect investors, they would likely increase the cost of doing business and limit families’ access to financial advice.
