Local Cities Recognized as Best Places to Live in Missouri

According to Movoto Real Estate’s recently released rankings, Ballwin, Chesterfield, Town and Country, and Manchester are all among the top ten best places to live in Missouri.

Three of these cities, Ballwin, Chesterfield, and Town and Country, are currently in my district, and I served Manchester until the recent redistricting.

Movoto based its ranking on cities’ cost of living, crime rate, high school diploma attainment, median household income, median home value, median rent price, and unemployment rate.

Town and Country ranked second on the list, only behind the city of Greendale. In Town and Country, 93% of residents hold a high school diploma, which is well above the national average of 59%, and the annual crime rate is only 14 per 1,000 residents. Chesterfield, the largest city to make the list, came in fifth place. The city’s unemployment rate is only 3.2%, and it ranked sixth in both high school diploma attainment and median household income.

Ballwin, which ranked ninth, has a crime rate of only 12 per 1,000 residents, and its cost of living is five points lower than the national average. Manchester rounded out the list at number ten. It has the lowest cost of living on the list and was recognized for its combination of amenities and affordability.

We are truly fortunate to live in an area that offers such a positive environment for living, working, and raising a family. As residents, we must consistently work to preserve the economic opportunities available in our communities so we can pass on quality cities on to our children and grandchildren.
